READ WITH YOUR CHILD!

Read with Your Child for 15-20 minutes each day!

Reading with a child every day nurtures vocabulary, language, and early literacy skills. It also builds the child's confidence to work through challenges and persistence in difficult tasks, and develops social and emotional skills, which are just as essential to school success.

ARE YOU HERE?

Each morning the principal randomly selects one student for the "Are You Here" raffle. This student simply has to be present when their name is called and they win a prize. The purpose is to bring attention to the important of good attendance.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, avoid dangerous behavior and have a better chance of graduating from high school.

When students are absent for fewer days, their grades and reading skills often improve—even among those students who are struggling in school. Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, develop important social skills and friendships, and are significantly more likely to graduate from high school, setting them up for a strong future.

But when kids are absent for an average of just two days of school per month—even when the absences are excused– it can have a negative impact.

STUDENT CAR DROP-OFF

Adjacent to the soccer field please pull all the way up to the traffic light OR the car in front of you. Remain in your vehicle and staff will escort your child into school at 8:15a.m. As a safety measure, please do not exit the car rider lane to pass another car. For the safety of our students, please do not drop off your student prior to 8:15 a.m. This is for safety reasons and to ensure that traffic flows smoothly.

Additionally, there is a drop-off area on Wisconsin Ave. Parents are to remain in their vehicle and staff will escort your child out of the vehicle. This drop-off area was created for 1st graders who are on the west side of the building. Remember, safety for all is at the forefront of all decisions we make.

Gracias!
