RMS Phys. Ed's 3rd Annual Turkey Bowl!
RMS Modified Athletics
See the pictures below with all important info for the upcoming Winter Season!
From Coach Alzate: The Modified girls soccer team ended their season with a 9-2 record including a huge 3-1 win over Monroe Woodbury. It was the first time in program history that a girls soccer team from Beacon defeated Monroe. Monroe Woodbury is a AAA school district in athletics meaning it normally competes with only the largest school districts in the state such as Arlington, Newburgh, Pine Bush, etc. The Beacon modified girls team is only an A school district. The team was led by 8th graders: Illeana Lawrence, Callie Winther, Amber-Perez Sample, Lily Vogrincic, Willow Faiella, Vivienne Lipari, Sarah Pilcurima. 7th grader Sarai Horne led the team in goals and 7th grader Nina Caccomo (also a back up goalkeeper) led the team in assists and was second in saves. Maddy Clark (7th grade) was the team's goalkeeper and recorded most of the team's saves/wins on the season. The team roster included: Callie Winther, Mary Rinaldi, Madison Crinieri, Gia DelBianco, Nina Caccomo, Illeana Lawrence, Amber Perez=Sample, Lily Vogrincic, Sarah Pilcurima, Madison Clark, Sarai Horne, Angelina Soria, Avery Persico, Mikaela Arce, Taliana Reid, Ciel Koerner, Willow Faiella, Adelyn Theiss, Amaya Gonzalez, Vivienne Lipari.
Star Spangled Banner Competition!
Last week, Mr. Cunningham hosted the Annual Star Spangled Banner Competition in our Cafeteria. Great job to all and congrats to 1st Place Journey Wright, 2nd Place Ryleigh Russak and 3rd Place Leilani Sanchez!
Fun in 6th Grade Social Studies!
As a culminating chapter activity, Mrs. Laderach’s classes participated in a Stone Age Escape Room. Students had to solve four different Stone Age themed puzzles to “escape”. Students had fun solving puzzles applying what they learned about the Stone Age.
The 7th and 8th grade students had a special opportunity on Friday, Nov. 1 to see the Beacon Players of BHS perform scenes from Man of La Mancha, a musical inspired by the Spanish classic novel Don Quixote de la Mancha written by Miguel de Cervantes in the 1600s. To read more about this musical, the important novel that inspired it, and the Beacon Players, go to https://beaconplayers.com/our-season-man-of-la-mancha-an-evening-with-willshakespeare-that-is-guys-dolls/
