Proud to celebrate excellence at the LycoCTC Awards Ceremony! We recognized students demonstrating outstanding averages in Knowledge, Skill, and Work Ethic. Additionally, we honored those with the highest overall GPA across programs. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our future leaders. Let's continue to inspire and support our students in their academic journeys!
National Signing Day
We celebrated our seniors who have committed to their next big steps—whether that’s a post-secondary institution, diving into the workforce, or serving in the military. We're so proud of each and every one of you!
Expansion Project
Career Fair
We hosted a Career Fair with 25 amazing participants who gave our students the chance to ask questions, explore career paths, and start building toward their goals. This isn’t just networking—it’s the first step toward a career.
Mock Crash
We partnered with Pennsylvania College of Technology and local emergency responders to provide an event focused on the dangers of impaired and unsafe driving, especially during prom season. Students observed a staged mock car crash simulation with a real-world emergency response. No one was injured. The simulation included sirens, loud noises, emergency vehicles, and individuals acting as injured persons. After the simulation, students had the opportunity to take part in campus and lab tours.
Automotive Technology
Car Wash Week! — and our students did an outstanding job! They spent the week detailing interiors and washing the exteriors of many vehicles, showing pride, teamwork, and great attention to detail.
After a full week of detailing cars, our Automotive team celebrated with a Car-B-Q — grilling, laughing, and recharging together.
Exciting news! Our seniors recently took the PA State Inspection Exam — and we’re thrilled to announce that 4 of our seniors passed and have earned their PA State Inspection License!
Construction Technology
Proud to spotlight Lyco CTC’s Construction Trades program and its exceptional seniors: Katie Shipton, Tyler Creasy, and Evan Mackenzie. Each demonstrated exemplary academic performance, technical proficiency, professionalism, and leadership — qualities that make them valuable hires for local contractors. All three plan to enter the local construction workforce after graduation. Recognition includes Katie’s PA Home Builders Association Endorsed Trades Program Outstanding Student Award and Tyler and Evan’s West Branch Home Builders Association School-to-Work Awards.
Big congratulations to Instructor Phil Aiken for earning the PBA “Rookie of the Year” Outstanding Instructor Award! At Lycoming CTC, Phil has developed a highly respected program focused on professionalism, strong industry partnerships, and outstanding student performance.
Built by students, enjoyed by students — and proud smiles all around!
Our construction class just finished this picnic table and took a well-earned break on their handiwork. From measuring to sanding, they nailed every step.
Students were making concrete test sample cylinders with varying water ratios to see which one would hold up to the most psi pressure when pressed. This showed the students how too much water or too little water affects the strength of the concrete.
Our Construction Technology program toured the Washingtonville Talen Energy Plant (formerly PP&L) and learned about a wide range of job opportunities — both with Talen Energy and with subcontractors.
Students got a first-hand look at real-world roles, asked questions, and explored future career options.
Criminal Justice
Our Criminal Justice students participated in Emergency Preparedness Day at Allenwood Prison, gaining direct exposure to coordinated emergency operations. The event featured State Police, county fire departments, EMT teams, K-9 demonstrations, Life Flight and the state police helicopter, animal rescue units, and child fingerprinting. Valuable cross-agency collaboration and practical experience that build readiness and professional insight.
Seniors got certified in Adult/Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED — lifesaving skills that empower and protect!
Culinary Arts
Our student chefs dazzled customers with flavor-packed dishes like a Strawberry Burrata & Lemon Herb Orzo Salad with grilled chicken and a Global Street Taco Flight—Seoul Street, Sweet Heat Carnita, and Coastal Crunch Fish Taco. Our students greeted guests, took orders, and cooked with pride. We’re so proud of their hard work and professionalism!
Our Culinary Program welcomed students from The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children for a hands-on lesson—and it was a hit!
Trent Stahl, a Culinary student led the group through a fun Kahoot about pizza, demonstrated proper hand-washing, and walked them step-by-step through making dough and rolling it out. They added sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, then sat down together to enjoy the pizzas they made.
Trent did an amazing job teaching—everyone had so much fun and learned valuable kitchen skills.
Pre-Nursing and Health Sciences
The Pre-Nursing & Health Sciences students participated in Medical Office Olympics. Events included filing records the fastest, triaging phone calls, scheduling appointments, deciphering doctor's orders, and a cumulative Kahoot battle.
AM juniors visited Wolf Run Village where they interacted with residents and assisted staff by measuring and recording patient vital signs. The experience provided students with valuable real-world exposure to patient care and professional communication skills in a healthcare setting.
Our dual enrollment students successfully completed their MTR104 Medical Terminology course and performed exceptionally well on their final exam. Following the completion of the course, juniors and seniors participated in an obstetrics enrichment unit focused on care of the pregnant patient and fetus during the prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum periods. Students engaged in hands-on learning activities including fundal height checks, cervical dilation simulations, and newborn care practice. They also researched and created educational infographics on pregnancy and fetal complications.
Positive Behavior Support Program
We are thrilled to announce the students who had their tickets pulled for the Positive Behavior Support Program! This recognition highlights their dedication to maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment. Let's continue to encourage our students to strive for excellence!
