Bulldog Blast

Note From Principal Pautler
Hello Bulldog Families,
1) Friday Night Lights – EDLAM Round One
It’s finally here—the first EDLAM matchup of the season! This Friday night, our Bulldogs take on the Huskies at North. Kickoff is at 7:00, and we all know the visitor side is going to be standing-room-only with fans and our mighty Bulldog Band. Translation: if you want a seat, don’t treat this like a movie theater and show up at the last minute with popcorn. Get there early!
Earlier this week, I sent out our Bulldog Fan Guide to help you represent Memorial with pride—please take a moment to read through it if you haven’t already. Students, remember: you’ll need to use the student gate on the visitor side and you must have your ID to get in. Don’t be “that person” who holds up the line because you forgot it.
2) Seniors & Juniors, Meet Your Future – GPACAC College Fair
Next Tuesday, September 16th, we’ll host the GPACAC College Fair with over 60 college and university representatives eager to meet you. This is your chance to do a little window shopping for your future—except instead of shoes or gadgets, you’re shopping for degrees, dorms, and dining halls.
Here’s the deal:
-
You must register for a barcode at www.StriveFair.com by midnight on September 14th.
-
Bring your school ID and your StriveFair barcode to the fair. Reps will scan your code to send you more information about their schools (way better than filling out the same form 60 times).
Parents, please remind your seniors to get registered now—“I forgot” won’t work as an excuse at the door.
3) Senior Skip Day – A Mythical Tradition
Ah yes, the age-old legend of “Senior Skip Day.” Like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster, people swear it’s real, but here at Memorial… we’ve never seen it officially. Just a reminder: the school does not sponsor skip days.
If your senior decides to participate in one of these “organized absences,” the absence will be marked as exactly that—an absence. And it won’t be excused just because it came with a group text invite. Every year we get a few phone calls from parents upset that their senior’s absence wasn’t excused. Trust me, we love our seniors, but we don’t get to make “Skip Day” a school holiday. If we did, I’m pretty sure the teachers would be the first ones to take advantage of it.
So to be crystal clear: if your student skips, they’re absent. We’ll be here teaching, and we’d love to have them here learning, too.
