West Leyden Student Activities
Do you have basic video camera and editing skills? Are you organized, a team player, and eager to learn? Do you need some extra cash? If you answered 'yes' to all of these questions, Leyden has a great opportunity for you!
Leyden's Communication Team is hiring 1-2 SENIOR student interns to assist with video production.
Interns will need to commit for the entire school year and be available to work outside of school hours. This is a paid position! You must apply by TODAY, Tuesday, September 2nd. Send an email of interest to Mr. Brandon Delgado at bdelgado@leyden212.org.
On Thursday, September 11th, and Friday, September 12th, during Eagle Time, in the Commons, students will have the opportunity to visit Leyden's annual Student Activities Fair. At the fair, students will learn more about the activities that are offered at West Leyden.
On Thursday, Sophomores and Juniors in Independent Seminar will attend; on Friday, Freshmen on Track, Seniors in Independent Seminar, and Sophomores and Juniors in Targeted Seminars will attend. Students who complete an "Adventure Awaits" treasure map while at the fair will be entered into a raffle to win some Leyden swag!
Starting this year, all Leyden students in any club will need to use the 5-Star Students app or link. It is with 5-Star that sponsors will create their club rosters.
With 5-Star Students, you can:
- access a complete list of Leyden clubs & activities in which you can get involved;

- check in & out of activities to verify participation / attendance.

And now, a public service announcement for all team coaches, athletes, club sponsors, and club members! Public schools in Illinois are allowed to have 9 exempted fundraising days per year, during which food and/or beverages not meeting competitive food standards (e.g. candy, donuts, etc.) may be sold to students on the school campus. The nine days that Leyden has chosen as its exempted fundraising days are listed on the accompanying graphic. Reach out to Ms. Anne Gruettner at agruettner@leyden212.org for more information.
