Health Office News
Movember, Mindful Choices, and Gratitude
Do you know about Movember??
Movember & Men's Health: November is globally recognized as
"Movember," a month dedicated to raising awareness for men's physical
and mental health. We encourage all of our students—especially our young
men—to prioritize their mental health, speak up when they are
overwhelmed, and check in on their friends.
Gratitude & Mental Wellness: With Thanksgiving around the corner,
November is the perfect time to practice gratitude. Research shows that
taking a moment each day to recognize things you are thankful for can
reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost your mood during busy exam
weeks.
Shorter Days & Immune Health: As the clocks change (November 1, 2026)
and the weather cools, we naturally spend more time indoors. This makes it
easier for colds and the flu to spread. Keep your immune system strong by
washing your hands frequently, staying hydrated, and aim for 8 to 10 hours
of sleep each night!
November is National Diabetes Month, a time to raise awareness about how our
bodies process energy. While genetics play a major role in diabetes, building
healthy physical habits right now is one of the best ways to protect your long-
term wellness and keep your energy levels steady through long school days.
Some examples are swapping out sugary drinks for water and pairing carbs with
protein, like apple and peanut butter.
Please remember our immunization exclusion date is coming up, November 19 th !
If your student is not compliant, even if they attend another school/home
schooled but play sport/s, they will not be allowed to attend school come
November 19, 26. Thank you for your cooperation!!
Lastly, please make sure your student/s has water with them here at school. If
they are not wanting to eat school lunch, snacks can be packed. YOU’RE BODY
DOESN’T RUN WELL ON EMPTY!!!!!!!

Get Connected at TVHS! 🦅
Hello TVHS Families!
My name is Misti Juergensen, and I am the Activities Coordinator at Thompson Valley High School. One of my favorite parts of my role is helping students find ways to get connected and involved in our school community!
TVHS offers a wide variety of clubs, activities, organizations, leadership opportunities, and Fine Arts programs. Whether students want to explore a new interest, meet new people, develop leadership skills, share their talents, or simply find a place where they belong, there is something for every Eagle.
Opportunities include everything from DECA, Robotics, Knowledge Bowl, and Book Club to Student Council, National Honor Societies, Band, Orchestra, Choir, Theater, Visual Arts, and much more!
Below, you’ll find a full list of our activities, clubs, and organizations, along with the staff sponsors to contact for more information. I encourage students to reach out to a sponsor, ask questions, and give something new a try!
If you’re not sure where to start or have questions about getting involved, please feel free to contact me at misti.juergensen@tsd.org. I’m happy to help connect your student with an opportunity that interests them.
There’s a place for every Eagle at TVHS!

From a computer:
- Open Google Calendar.
- On the left side, find Other calendars.
- Click the + next to Other calendars.
