π Career & College Readiness (CCR) Updates!
Michigan Career Development Model Reference Guide
The Muskegon Area Intermediate School District (MAISD) Career and College Readiness Team is working to ensure leadership, programs and services related to career education remain a priority, and enhance the success of all Muskegon area students.
In doing so we are grateful for the opportunities of growth, expansion and state partnership.
Recently, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) in collaboration with the Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) released NEW RESOURCES and branding that will assist districts in implementing the Michigan Career Development Model (MCDM), grades K-12.
Our Career & College Readiness (CCR) Team is in place to help coach districts and provide technical assistance for implementing the MCDM including launching Grade Band Specific Targets and Strategies (K-5, 6-8, 9-12).
In upcoming newsletters, I will be sharing out some of the new resources from the MCDM.
STAY TUNED!

π’ Career Exploration Shout-Outs around the County!
Charles Hackley Middle School and Muskegon Heights Academy Middle School
Students from Charles Hackley Middle School and Muskegon Heights Academy Middle School took part in JA BizTown, a program through Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes, that teaches financial literacy and career development. After a series of lessons in class, students spent the day in JA BizTown running businesses together. As a team they made decisions about pricing and marketing in order to pay off their business loan and make a profit. Students earned a paycheck and had the chance to visit other spots in town to make their own purchases, play games, vote, and so much more.
