All Aboard, All Together-Parent Edition

The ExpressAll Aboard, All Together-Parent Edition

We hope this letter finds you well. We are writing to inform you about some important changes to our arrival and dismissal procedures that will take effect on Monday, August 19th. These changes have been made after careful consideration and with the safety and well-being of our students as our top priority.

Why are we changing the current system?

Over the past few weeks, we have observed some challenges with our current dismissal procedures. In an effort to reduce congestion and ensure safety, we have adjusted some of our drop off and pick-up locations. Please review the attached maps to ensure you or the person driving your student is familiar with the change.

Walkers

If your child is a walker, please do not wait by the fence or on school grounds. Students will cross Timber Forest as a group and will be released to walk once they have crossed. The group will then cross over Lakewood Pines, and students will be released at the bottom of the bridge. Please make sure your child knows the correct route home.

Kinder and first grade parents ONLY need to be present to receive their children. If a parent is not present to pick up a first grader or kindergartener, the student will be brought back to the school, and the parent will need to come inside to pick them up.

Starting August 19th, to help reduce traffic on Timber Forest, all Kinder and 1st grade students, along with their siblings, will be dropped off and picked up at the back of the school. Please refer to the detailed drawing for guidance. Side cars will enter in a single line from Lakewood Pines and travel the back path toward the portables. Cars will turn into the parking area and split into two lines. Please do not change lines. Cars will remain in two lines until your child has entered the car, then dismiss single file back to Lakewood Pines.

Parents will no longer be looping on Timber Forest.

2nd-5th Grade 2nd-5th Grade

Starting Monday, August 19th, our 2nd-5th grade car rider lines will operate with two lanes for both arrival and dismissal, please do not change lanes as this will slow down the process. Drive carefully and be mindful of staff who may be in the center lane assisting students getting out of cars in the outside lane. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and arrival/dismissal efficient!

Bus, Daycare & Fast Pass Bus, Daycare & Fast Pass

Fast Pass: Each Fast Pass Parents (10) will have a special tag that will allow them to go to pick up their student in the designated area.

Humble ISD buses and private daycare services will use the side car area to pick up and drop off their students.
