Tambark Creek Elementary principal newsletter.

Hello and Happy June!

It’s hard to believe, but we’re just days away from wrapping up the 2024–25 school year! This year has flown by, and we have so much to be thankful for.

First and foremost, thank you to all of our amazing volunteers. Your time and dedication have allowed us to host memorable family events, attend exciting field trips, enjoy fun classroom activities, and, of course, experience a fantastic 5th Grade Camp. Your involvement truly makes a difference in our school community.

🗓 Upcoming End-of-Year Events

  • Field Day – June 12th:
We’re still looking for volunteers! If you haven’t signed up yet, please consider joining us to help make Field Day a fun and successful event for all.

  • 5th Grade Moving Up Celebration – June 18th:
This year’s 5th-grade class is extra special—they are the first group to complete all six grades at Tambark Creek since our opening in August 2019. A huge milestone for our students and our school!

  • Last Day of School –Friday, June 20th: Early dismissal at 1:00 PM

💐 Thank You, Volunteers!

Thank you to all who attended our Volunteer Appreciation Celebration in May. Our students enjoyed performing for you and writing poems to show their gratitude. We are truly thankful for all the time and energy you share with us.

🌟 Core Value Winner: Collaboration

Our May Core Value Winner for Collaboration is Alice Barnes Carvalho Pimenta in Ms. Carlson’s 4th-grade class. Ms. Carlson shared that Alice is a kind, helpful student who works well with everyone and always makes an effort to include others.
Way to go, Alice!

📚 Gateway Middle School Summer Reading Program

Message from Gateway Middle School:

Dear Gateway Families,

We are excited to launch our 2025 Summer Reading Program! Gateway students are encouraged to read at least one book of their choice over the summer—any book that is a good fit for their reading level.

Families can explore book suggestions on the Gateway library website, including:

  • Destiny Library Catalog

  • First Chapter Friday titles

  • Summer reading slideshow recommendations

Students can also use their new library card numbers for access to both Sno-Isle and Everett Public Libraries—in person or through the Sora app online.

After reading, students should complete the Google Form linked on the Gateway library website by September 10th to be eligible for the “Pick a Popsicle” game and additional prizes!

Bonus! The Gateway Library will be open on Wednesdays from 12:00–3:00 PM all summer long. Come check out books, get reading help, and attend our Kick-Off Event on June 25th—pick out summer reads, enjoy popsicles, and learn more about the program with help from Sno-Isle Libraries!

📌 Looking Ahead

  • Class Lists for next year will be shared via ParentSquare in August

  • First Day of the 2025–26 School Year is Wednesday, August 27th for 1st-5th grade. Kindergarten and Developmental Kindergarten will start on Tuesday, September 2nd.

We hope you and your family enjoy a restful, fun-filled summer. Thank you for an incredible school year. See you in August!

Warmly,

Mrs. O'Connor-Weaver

Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who volunteered their time this year. Our organization can only function with your help. Volunteers - if you helped out at school, on a field trip, or at a PTSA event this year and were unable to attend our Volunteer Celebration, please reach out to vicepresident@tambarkcreekptsa.org. We have a small gift for you.

Yearbooks will be arriving soon and will be distributed to students in their classrooms in the next few weeks. If you forgot to order a yearbook and would like to add your name to the waitlist for potential extras, please email yearbook@tambarkcreekptsa.org.

Next year’s board of directors is already hard at work planning things for the coming school year. If you have any interest in getting involved on a committee or in a leadership role, please reach out to me at president@tambarkcreekptsa.org so I can connect with you and find out what your interests are. My involvement with the PTSA has brought so much to my life and to my kids’ school experience. I know it can do the same for you.

As always, find the latest PTSA news at our website (tambarkcreekptsa.org), on our Facebook page (facebook.com/TambarkCreekPTSA), or on Instagram (instagram.com/tambarkcreekptsa/). Let’s make these last few weeks of school great!
