MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Greetings Lindblom MSA Eagles,
We are so proud to share that we currently rank #8 among CPS high schools!! Our students are the reason we do THIS work. Keep rising, soaring, and striving for excellence.
This progress is the result of our school community working together through collaboration, strategic improvement initiatives, and professional learning, to increase student voice, access, opportunities, and achievement.
We kicked off Week 1 with phenomenal energy and exemplary attendance. Outside the building, our cheer tunnel welcomed students back with cheers, smiles, and fanfare. Our hallways were filled with the bustling sounds of joyful students making their way to classes, supporting one another with locker combinations, and reconnecting after summer break. In every class, teachers facilitated community builders to help students get to know one another and their teachers.
I look forward to building on the energy we created this week. Joy is just as important as the work ahead. Let’s continue building our community by supporting one another, challenging ourselves, and soaring to new heights.
Together we strive for excellence,
Principal Banks

P.S. We will offer ACT test preparation during Colloquium Days. Parents, please encourage your 10th- and 11th-grade students to sign up for an ACT Colloquium session, AM or PM, when registration opens.
BE SUPPORTIVE
LMSA Interventionists
Dear Lindblom Families,
This year, 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students will be taking the STAR360 Reading and Math diagnostics. The results from these screeners will help teachers tailor instruction to best support your learner. These results will also help identify students who may benefit from additional ELA or Math supports through our school’s MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) intervention program.
STAR360 diagnostics will take place sometime between 8/31/26 and 9/18/26. Decisions about intervention enrollment will be based on STAR360 results, teacher input, and program capacity. If your student is selected to participate in the intervention program, they will receive enhanced ELA and/or Math support during colloquium flex periods and possibly one lunch period a week; they will not be pulled out of their normal class time. Space is limited in the program; if your student is selected to participate, you will receive a follow-up email from either Ms. Bremer (mbremer@cps.edu) or Mr. Raichel (naraichel1@cps.edu).
Thank you,
Mary Bremer

Lunch Period Classroom Visits
To help keep hallways clear, maintain security, and avoid disrupting class instruction, students may only report to a teacher’s classroom during lunch with an email pass from that teacher.
The email pass must include:
Student name
Date and time
Lunch period
Teacher name
Classroom number
Students must have a screenshot/photo of the email pass to leave the lunchroom. Verbal permission is not enough.
Once students report to the classroom, they must remain there for the entire lunch period. Students may not go back and forth to the lunchroom or walk throughout the building.

Student Opportunities
Since 2017, the I-NOMA Design Build Program has connected minority high school students with architecture, design, and construction professionals while transforming community spaces.
Applications are now open for the 2026 Design Build Teen Program. Students will work with I-NOMA professionals to design and renovate a youth workshop space at Concordia Place, gaining hands-on experience in design, construction, teamwork, and the architecture process. Learn more by visiting I-NOMA.
If the cost is a barrier to participation, feel free to reach out to Mr. Kent (tkent@cps.edu) and he can get you connected to the scholarship that will cover the cost of the program.

The Mini Medical School
This free, application-based program is designed to introduce high school students to careers in healthcare, deepen their understanding of organ system biology, and build hands-on technical skills essential for working in the medical field. Throughout the five full-day sessions, students will work alongside physicians, current medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
We especially encourage students with an interest in STEM or exploring a career in healthcare to apply.
The Mini Medical School will take place on Saturdays, from October 10th through 31st, 2026, with the case presentation occurring on November 7th, on Midwestern University’s Downers Grove Campus. This is a full-day, in-person program, and we expect all participants to attend each session. A full lunch will be provided for all participating students.
I’ve attached this year’s flyer to this email with more information, as well as the student application. The application is due on Sunday, 9/6/2026, at 11:59 pm.
