ACT or SAT Choice
In Spring 2026, 11th and 12th graders can take the ACT or SAT during a school day—fully funded by the state at no cost to you. By participating in one of these exams, students can meet the College Readiness Indicator for South Carolina, an important milestone recognized at graduation.
Meeting the College Readiness Indicator means:
- ACT composite score of 20+ or
- SAT total score of 1020+
For detailed directions on how to make your selection in Parent Portal, click here.
The choice form will be open until December 15, 2025.

Important School Information
Cell Phones & Headphones
School District 5 Cell Phone Policy
During the school day, students are prohibited from accessing their personal electronic devices. Students may not utilize the function of electronic communication on device accessories during the school day. Students must store away and silence their devices and/or device accessories in lockers, backpacks, or otherwise as directed by the school district during the school day. Exceptions granted for other authorized reasons (i.e. emergency situations) will be determined by the school district.
This policy includes cell phones, personal computers, tablets, gaming devices, headphones, and other accessories.
Identification (ID) Badges
All Irmo High students must wear a current picture ID badge when on District Five property. ID cards are printed on both sides with the same information.
IDs must be worn at all times.
IDs must be visible and worn outside of clothing.
Picture, name and barcode must be visible.
ID badges must be clearly visible and worn in front above the waist and below the neck on a breakaway lanyard. In a pocket, or under a jacket is NOT clearly visible. The ID badge may not be marked on or altered in any way; if it is damaged, a new ID will need to be purchased. A defaced ID is any badge on which the picture, name, ID #, year, barcode or grade level has been changed, altered, or obstructed.
The first ID badge is free. However, replacing lost, stolen or damaged cards costs $5.00. The replacement fee covers the cost of the materials used in reprinting and replacement lanyards.
