Out with the Old, In with the New!

We are excited to share an important update regarding our graduation ordering process!

Moving forward, our school is transitioning away from Jostens and officially partnering with Midwest Scholastic, a trusted local Wisconsin business. Through this new partnership, we are able to provide our families with the same high-quality graduation products—including caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels—at significantly lower prices.

We are thrilled to support a local company while also reducing costs for our graduating class.

What’s Next?

More detailed information regarding how and when to order caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels for the upcoming graduation season will be shared soon. Please keep an eye out for future communications!

Need a Locker?

Lockers are optional and will not be assigned on the first day of school. If you would like a locker, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a request: Complete the Google Form linked. All locker requests must be submitted through this form.
  2. Check your email: Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email from Coach Fleming (SHS New Campus Supervisor) with your assigned locker number and combination. We will install a lock on your locker before you begin using it.
  3. If you can't remember your combo, please also email Coach Fleming at gfleming@shorewood.k12.wi.us

Please submit the form in advance if you would like a locker. We will not make locker assignments in person or on the first day of school.

We hope you have a wonderful start to the school year!

NEW Attendance Policy and Cellphone Policy

Starting this school year, parents/caregivers will be required to use their Infinite Campus portal account to enter attendance information for any student absences that may occur. The goal of requiring this new process is to make our attendance procedures more streamlined and timely, utilizing the capabilities of Infinite Campus more fully.

Here is a link to a demonstration video that will assist you in navigating to the correct location within Infinite Campus.

FULL DETAILS FOUND HERE

CELLPHONE POLICY:

SHOREWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS SHOREWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS

IMPORTANT LETTER FROM DISTRICT NURSE GABOR

Dear Parent or Guardian,

We are writing to inform you about a new school health program that will make schools safer for individuals with asthma and anaphylaxis and to share some important health reminders.

In 2023, Wisconsin passed a law allowing your child’s school to maintain and administer a quick-relief asthma inhaler to treat life-threatening respiratory distress at school. Similarly, Wisconsin law allows schools to stock FDA-approved nasal epinephrine spray (Neffy) as our emergency medication for anaphylaxis. All Shorewood schools now have a stock albuterol inhaler and Neffy, in addition to an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen). These may be utilized by our health team and first responders for urgent and emergent situations only. These stock medications do not replace the need for students with prescribed emergency medications to have their own at school.

In addition, as we start the year, we wanted to share a few reminders from the health offices:

  • Immunizations: Wisconsin Student Immunization Law (Wis. Stat. § 252.04) requires all students to meet a minimum number of required immunizations to attend school. You may check your child’s records using the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) and use this form to update your child’s information. Immunization requirements can be waived only for health, religious, or personal conviction reasons. Your child's immunization record must meet Wisconsin State requirements by the 30th day of school, 10/14/2026. Either by having your child receive all required immunizations or by filling out, signing, and returning the form waiving immunization to the school.

  • Medications at school: If your child needs to take medication (prescription or over-the-counter) at school, this form must be completed every school year for all prescription, emergency, and over-the-counter medications. Please bring the completed form, with the prescribing provider’s signature for prescriptions, and medication in its original packaging to the main office at your child’s school.

  • Health conditions and support plans: If your child has any medical diagnoses that require specific care, it is important to keep the school informed. Some students may require an Individualized Health Plan (IHP) or an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) at school to help support health needs while they are at school. Medical diagnoses that should be reported include, but are not limited to:

  • Seizure Disorder

  • Severe Allergies (Allergy Action Plan)

  • Asthma (Asthma Action Plan)

  • Diabetes

  • Feeding support needs (G-tube)

  • When to stay home: Please keep your child home if they have:

    • An illness that significantly impacts their ability to learn.

    • A temperature of 100°F or higher.

    • Vomiting

    • Diarrhea

    • Untreated live head lice.

    • A confirmed communicable disease that requires students to stay at home.

Please reach out with any questions you may have related to this information or your child’s specific needs. We look forward to working together to ensure a safe and healthy school year!

Kindly,

Cassandra Gabor

ATTENTION JUNIORS/SENIORS:

We have a representative from MATC visiting on Tuesday, September 22, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. to meet with interested juniors and seniors about taking coursework at MATC through the Start College Now program next semester (Spring 2027).

If you are interested in learning more, please reply to this email, and I will get you scheduled to meet with him in a small group.

The deadline to submit an application to take a course at either a university through the Early College Credit Program--ECCP-- (most commonly UW-Milwaukee) or at a technical college through the Start College Now program--SCN-- (most commonly MATC) is Thursday, October 1.

It is important that you connect with your school counselor to discuss if taking a university course while in college would be the best fit for you, as well as the policies and logistics of taking a course at another institution.

To find the application and read about policies concerning ECCP, see this website: https://dpi.wi.gov/cte/dual-enrollment/eccp
