The staff and students at Singing Hills Elementary showed their spirt for The Denver Broncos on Friday!

All throughout the hallways and classrooms, orange and blue were the dominant colors. The Broncos are set to play their first regular season game on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos are favorited to win that game with most analysts predicting a victory by at least 5 points. We will see! There certainly is a lot of excitement and hope for the team this season with fans looking forward to seeing what Broncos Quarterback Bo Nix can do on the field.

PAUL BUNYAN VISITS RUNNING CREEK ELEMENTARY, BUT LOOKS ODDLY FAMILIAR PAUL BUNYAN VISITS RUNNING CREEK ELEMENTARY, BUT LOOKS ODDLY FAMILIAR

Running Creek Elementary teachers are dressed up in costumes for book theme week

A visit from Paul Bunyan!

ESD Superintendent Dan Snowberger visited with Running Creek Elementary School 2nd graders this week dressed as the fictional book character of Paul Bunyan. This was part of the school's tall tales unit. The students were thoroughly entertained with the visit and as you can see, their teachers were dressed for the occasion as well!

Some fun facts about Paul Bunyan:

1) Many different towns claim to be the "home" of Bunyan. Some of those towns are in Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin.

2) There are huge statues of Bunyan in Akeley, Minnesota and Portland, Oregon. Another Bunyan statue in Klamath, California features a 49 foot Bunyan statue and 35 foot Babe the Blue Ox statue.

3) In 1960, there was a Mel-O-Toons cartoon titled 'Paul Bunyan'. The cartoon featured Bunyan batting cannonballs in the American Revolutionary War, sinking pirate ships and building the Big Rock Candy Mountain.

Thank you Superintendent Snowberger for dressing up and reading the book!

EHS AUTO BUILDING FUNDRAISER COLLECTION JARS POP UP AROUND ELIZABETH EHS AUTO BUILDING FUNDRAISER COLLECTION JARS POP UP AROUND ELIZABETH

A flyer for the EHS auto building fundraiser with QR code

Attention ESD community! Don't be surprised if you start seeing this flyer attached to collection jars around town. While we had a first successful fundraiser with over $100K in pledges, we are still only one-third of the way to getting the EHS Auto Building completed. The total cost to finish the project is about $300,000.

ESD Leadership and Administration will be coming up with some creative ideas to continue the fundraising effort. Elizabeth School District continues to work with the Elizabeth Education Foundation on collecting donations and fundraising opportunities.

You can always donate to the project through MySchoolBucks by scanning the QR code in the flyer above. Thank you for your continued support of EHS and the auto shop building dream!
