College and University Visits College and University Visits

Did you know that juniors and seniors are allowed 2 days each school year to visit colleges/universities? (These visits cannot be accrued to the next year.) The student needs to bring a note back from the college/university confirming they were on a campus visit and give it to Mrs. Gonzalez, our attendance clerk, in the front office. We encourage students and parents to visit campuses in order to learn about the programs the college/university offers as well as get a feel for the campus and the student body.

Do you need a Verification of Enrollment (VOE)?

Please use the VOE request form if need verification of enrollment over the summer break for driver's license or permit test. Once you have completed your request, you will receive a signed VOE in your FISD email within the hour.

Students will now log hours through their Xello account. Step-by-step instructions are below:

From your student portal, click the Xello tile.

  • Log in with your Google Account Info and and then click the About Me title in the first column.
  • Scroll down the page until you get to Experiences.
  • Click the Volunteer box.
  • Enter your service information.
  • In the organization line, please add the organization name and the email of the person in charge of your service event.

While general volunteerism is admirable, the district has specific criteria to qualify for the recognition program for more information about Community Service : Xello - Service Hours
