Byam Art Night and Book Fair
Thank you to Byam art teacher Mrs. Brown, and BSA scholastic book fair coordinator Ellen Marcsisin, for a great art show night and book fair.
Thank You
Thank you to the BSA for our grab and go lunch for Teacher Appreciation Week. It was a delicious treat from Summer Street Grocers.
Field Day
The Byam Field Day will be on Friday, June 6 with a rain date of June 9. This event is always a favorite event where we rely on many volunteers to run stations. Ms. Quinn will be emailing out a link next week for volunteer sign ups. If you are volunteering please be sure you have an update CORI form with us. If you need to have a CORI form run, please visit the Byam office with your identification card to fill out the form.
Incoming Kindergarten
Over the next couple of weeks we will be hosting events for incoming kindergarten families. On Tuesday May 13 there is a kindergarten informational evening and then the following week on May 20, 21 and 22 we will have our kindergarten screening at Byam. We are excited to begin welcoming our new families to our community.
Family Survey
Our district values your feedback! We are currently surveying The Chelmsford Public Schools families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district's effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think.
To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2025 Family Survey as we did in 2023 and 2024 as well. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district as good as they can be.
You may complete the survey online between through Friday June 13th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website below: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/chelmsfordma/family25/surveys
If you have multiple CPS school-aged children, please feel free to fill out multiple surveys to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question on the survey will be a dropdown to select which school you are filling the survey out for.
Notes from the Nurse
Allergies:
Spring seasonal allergy season is most definitely here. With the trees and flowers blooming comes pollen and unfortunately, seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies occur when the immune system reacts to airborne particles of pollen from trees, grasses and weeds.
Common allergy symptoms include frequent sneezing, nasal congestion or runny nose, red, watery and itchy eyes and fatigue.
Tips for managing Seasonal Allergies:
-Take allergy medications, as directed by your primary care provider. Over the counter antihistamines, decongestants, eye drops and nasal sprays can provide relief from allergy symptoms.
-Monitor pollen counts. When possible, limit outdoor activities during peak pollen times.
-Keep windows closed to prevent pollen from entering your home.
-Consider using air purifiers with HEPA filters to reduce airborne allergens.
-Wash your hands and face after spending time outdoors to remove pollen allergens. Showering before bedtime can also prevent pollen from transferring to bedding.
Thank you!

The BSA struggles with trying to keep you informed without flooding your inbox. We understand some don't have the bandwidth to know more, while others are looking to get more involved...but don't know where to start. If you are one of those people looking to know more please take a moment to fill out the attached form. This does not lock you into anything but helps us filter our "extra" communication more directly to people looking to be more involved with the BSA!
No-cost Registration for Byam Events:
