Falling Into the Swing of Things
Fall is in full swing, and the leaves are flying through the air! As the temperatures begin to drop, North Dakota is reminding us that colder weather is just around the corner. Please make sure students come to school prepared with coats, hats, and other warm clothing so they can stay comfortable and enjoy outdoor activities as long as the weather allows.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents who helped provide meals for our teachers during conference week! Those long days at school can be exhausting, and knowing a meal is ready and waiting makes such a difference. Your generosity and thoughtfulness help take one more thing off our teachers' plates (pun intended!) and remind them how much our families appreciate the work they do. Thank you for supporting our staff in such a meaningful way!
As we move through the fall season at Twining, we have several exciting opportunities for students to learn, connect, and have fun. From celebrating healthy choices during Red Ribbon Week to enjoying Harvest Happenings and building teamwork through VEX Robotics, there is plenty happening in our school community!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Nathan Twining Elementary and Middle School. It is a privilege to work alongside our families to create a welcoming, supportive environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive. Enjoy these beautiful fall days while they last, and as always, thank you for being part of our Twining community!

School Calendar
Attendance Line:
701-746-2313
If your child(ren) are going to be late or absent from school, please inform the school office by calling the attendance line number above before 8:25 am.
You will not speak directly to anyone, it is a message line only. Please leave student's name,
teacher and reason for absence. All students absent or arriving late because of an
appointment of any kind will need to have a written excuse from the doctor's office in order for the absence or tardy to be excused. Medically excused absences do not count against a
student's absences if a note is provided by the medical provider.
Communication between home and school ensures students safety. If the school does not
hear from you, we will give you a call to make sure your child is safe. If you are taking your
child out of school early for any reason, please call the office in advance or come to Door #1
ring doorbell. We will call them to the office from their classroom and bring them to Door #1
to the parent.
Attendance is very important. If your child is not in school, he/she is missing out on very
important learning. We monitor student attendance closely and follow the Grand Forks Public
Schools "Stay in School" policy.
Website: Please refer to our website and the GFPS website for school information. https://twining.gfschools.org/
Communicating with Teachers:
Calls do not ring into the classroom during school hours to minimize interruptions. Messages for students can be left on the teacher’s voicemail. However, Seesaw will be the best form of communication with elementary classroom teachers. Seesaw sign up communication will be provided by your student's teacher. For communicating with Middle School teachers, teacher emails can be found in Infinite Campus.

Visitors
All visitors must sign in at the school office when coming to the school. All doors remain
locked during the school day for safety and security purposes. Please utilize the push-to-talk
system located at Door #1 to gain entrance into our school and proceed to the office to sign-
in. If you need to visit with your child's teacher, call and make an appointment with the front office. Teachers do not always have time to check their emails throughout the day so you may not receive an immediate response. Your child's safety is our number one priority!
MEDICATION PROCEDURES

needs to be completed and signed by the physician and parent. If your child is taking over-the-
