Welcome Back, Lion Pride — The Year We Roar!
Dear Team,
I hope you had a fantastic and restful summer. As we prepare to kick off the 2025-2026 school year, I want to begin by thanking you for choosing Lipscomb Elementary. You are an exceptionally talented group of educators and staff, and while you have many options for where to bring your gifts, you’ve chosen to invest them here. That is not lost on me, and I’m deeply grateful — our students, families, and community are lucky to have you.
This year, I couldn’t be more optimistic. Over the summer, I’ve watched as our learning spaces are being upgraded to match the level of excellence that you and our students deserve. Even with the challenges we face in education, we’ve made monumental progress in student achievement. I’ll share more specifics with you on Monday, but know this: we have every reason to be proud and confident as we step into this year.
You are the reason for our roar. Never underestimate the influence you hold — to change lives, amplify student voices, and shape future leaders ready to solve problems the world hasn’t even imagined yet. Our work will not get easier, but it will grow in significance, and we will rise to meet it. We will continue to get better because that’s who we are.
I am incredibly proud to welcome you back to your campus. The most important work in the world happens here, and it’s done by you.
Last year, we transitioned. This year, we Roar. Together.
With pride,
Mr. Carter
New Members of the Pride!
Let's take a moment to welcome our newest Pride Members! We have a couple more that are in processing, and I can't wait to introduce them to you next week!
Meet the Music Teacher, Mrs. Benton! 🎵
Hello! My name is Megan Benton! I have been teaching music and music theater in Dallas ISD for the past 17 years. I spent the last 4 years at Lakewood Elementary and 13 years at DeGolyer Elementary before that. Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family! My photo shows my husband (Scott), my two daughters (Phoebe and Finley) and I on vacation a couple of summers ago. This is an exciting year for us, as our oldest daughter (Phoebe), will be starting her undergraduate studies at UNT! In addition to family time, I enjoy creating things. I especially enjoy sewing, crochet and gardening. I am excited to start this new chapter of my teaching career at Lipscomb Elementary and I’m looking forward to getting to know my students and coworkers over the next few months!
Meet the 4th Grade Dual Language Teacher, Ms. Hernandez!👩🏻🏫
Where did you teach before coming to Lipscomb? Before coming to Lipscomb, I taught at L.L. Hotchkiss Elementary.
What’s a fun fact about you outside of school? Once I was having drinks with friends at The Loon, and Dirk Nowitzki was there as well. I got his autograph on a dollar bill, but he declined a picture, due to him drinking.
What’s your favorite children’s book or book series? My favorite children's books are the Amelia Bedelia series.
What’s one thing you’re most excited about this school year? I am most excited about starting a new year at Lipscomb.
If you had a personal motto, what would it be? If I had a personal motto, it would be "Live and let live."
Meet the Parent Speialist, Ms. Martinez-Quiroga! 🌸
Hello everyone, my name is Ms. Martinez-Quiroga. I will be the parent support specialist this year at Lipscomb. Before coming to Lipscomb, I was the parent instructor at Obadiah Knight Elementary. What drew me into Lipscomb Elementary was my position that was no longer available at the other campus. A fun fact about me outside school is that I love baking and spent time with my daughter. One thing I most excited about this school year is that I get to meet new people and learn new things. My favorite drink of the day is the Strawberry Acai from Starbucks. At school I feel most like myself when I can express my opinions and build connections.
