Hello Glennwood Families,
It has been another wonderful week of growth and discovery here at Glennwood! I want to start by sharing my sincere appreciation for the incredible dedication you have shown toward our at-home practice routines. We are watching those Freckle and LaLilo minutes add up daily, and the results are clear: our Eagles are becoming even stronger in their reading and math skills through this extra practice. Thank you for your continued support and for making these tools a part of your home routine!
Speaking of our Eagles shining, it’s almost time for our Glennwood Talent Show! Mr. Crabb has shared information about this year's event, and I truly hope all of our students consider participating. It is always a joy to see the diverse talents of our youngest learners as they show us what they can do. Please remember that the deadline for recording submissions is March 15th, so be sure to get those videos in soon! We can’t wait to celebrate the creativity and courage of our students.
While we love celebrating our students' many talents, our absolute top priority is - and always will be - keeping them safe. To do this effectively, we must maintain a clear understanding of who is entering our building at all times. I want to offer a gentle reminder regarding our front door and school entrance protocol. When you arrive at the school, Mrs. Reynolds or anyone assisting at the door is required to ask all visitors to identify themselves before being buzzed in.
Please know that this is an essential layer of security designed to protect our kiddos, not to cause an inconvenience. Even if we see a familiar face, following this protocol for every visitor ensures we are maintaining the highest standard of safety. Additionally, when you are buzzed in, please do not allow other individuals to follow you into the building. Each visitor must be identified and admitted individually. I truly appreciate your understanding, patience, and partnership in keeping Glennwood a safe and secure place for all of our students to learn and grow.
Thank you for everything you do to support our school community. Let's finish the week strong!
In partnership,
Bill Howard

Specials Spotlight - What's Happening in the Art?
All art classes just finished the greenware stage of their latest clay project. We worked with creating forms out of slabs of clay, using correct clay techniques to join the slabs, and a variety of methods for creating texture, pattern, and subtracting clay to create negative space. After firing the pieces will be glazed and then coming home to you!
Kindergarten Art created clay lanterns. The texture rollers (thanks DEF!) were a huge hit.
1st Grade Art created clay flower pots. This is a collaborative project - the students will be planting seeds and growing flowers with another teacher. Students are excited to find out who will continue the project with them.
2nd Grade Art created clay fairy houses. These artists really shone with their creativity and craftsmanship!
Please SAVE THE DATE for the CSD Art Show - March 31-April 2 at the Solarium from 4-7 pm. (See flyer below.)
Prepare your special talent- Glennwood is hosting our sixth annual Virtual Talent Show!
