April 2026
Message from the Superintendent
Dear TPS Community,
Yay…it’s Friday!!!
It is the day that kick-starts the long weekend for all of us, and the April vacation break for our students and educators. When we come back from April break, we are on what feels like the final leg of our own marathon (the school year). The last couple of weeks have been nothing short of amazing in this long run—literally.
The many spring events, past and upcoming, include the following: The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, Career Day for Grade 11, Meteorologist Assemblies, Science Heroes Assemblies, 4th grade Wax Museums, The CES performance of WONKA!!!, Solo Band and Choir Concerts, Pickleball at the Wynn, Junior Prom, College Fair, Academic Excellence Award ceremony, and the TMHS Spring musical, Matilda…to just name a few of the late March and April events!!! This spring truly showcases the hard work and amazing work effort of our students and teachers.
At the School Committee meeting on April 16th, we shared some exciting announcements for the future of TPS. We are thrilled to share that our new Wynn School Principal, Stephen Sierpina, will be coming on board on July 1, 2026. We are planning a meet and greet with him before the end of the school year (details to follow).
While we are excited to welcome Stephen, we also recognize the sadness that comes with saying goodbye to our retiring leadership. Transitions can bring anxiety, but please know that we are committed to honoring the legacy already built while ensuring our staff feels supported every step of the way.
Furthermore, we are looking forward to finalizing our new district leadership positions—including the current posting for a new assistant superintendent of schools—to ensure our district team is at full strength for the fall, when our current Asst. Supt., Dr. Nancy Milligan, takes the reins as superintendent.
Important Dates: Last Day of School: Thursday, June 18, 2026 (Early Release Day)
Now, let’s talk about this glorious break. We’ve powered through three intense quarters, and while the finish line is in sight, there’s still a stretch ahead. This time off is your pit stop—your chance to rest, refuel, and recharge.
Students: Enjoy the well-earned downtime.
Parents and Guardians: May this break offer you a little breathing room.
Educators and Staff: Thank you for your relentless dedication and care.
Wishing you all a joyful, restful, and safe long weekend and April vacation. And to our Boston Marathon runners (and all of us)—"The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow." — Unknown.
Warmly,
Brenda Theriault-Regan

STEAM Night
Second grade STEAM Night at Center Elementary was a major success! Students learned, experimented, and even met some creatures!
EL Education in Action - 2nd Grade
Our 2nd grade students recently brought their learning to life through a joyful and engaging Fossil Celebration of Learning, inspired by their EL Education module! Families and staff were invited to Center Elementary School, where students proudly showcased their work and shared their expertise.
Throughout the event, students presented original narrative writing, recited their creative “I Found a Baby Dinosaur” poems, and demonstrated their growing knowledge of fossils and paleontology. It was clear that a tremendous amount of effort, curiosity, and pride went into both their projects and presentations.
Events like this highlight the power of authentic learning experiences—giving students the opportunity to deepen their understanding, build confidence, and share their voices with an audience. A big thank you to Ms. Spinali and our second grade team for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience for students and families!
Kindness Club
Center Elementary school began its first ever Kindness Club in February. The club has 30 second and third grade students lead by Mrs. Sara Espinal and Mrs. Vanessa Chambers. Their focus has been creating a mural in the school's entryway titled 'Plant Kindness Everyday'.
Students have reflected on what kindness means, ways to show kindness, and who has shown them kindness. Their next session will begin later this month and will include 4th graders.
PAC Trivia Night
On April 2nd, the Townwide Parent Advisory Council (PAC) held their Annual Trivia Night, and it was a major success! Congratulations to the Dewing Elementary School, which came in first place! The Wynn Middle School took second place. Thank you to our PACs and all of the participants!
