Dear Smith Stallion Parents and Students,

We have had a great week! After this week, we have 10 school days left before ACT Aspire Testing for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students! They have worked so hard and are ready!

Our PTA Fundraiser was a great success!! Thank you to everyone who had the opportunity to participate. We appreciate your support as we work towards a new digital sign for our school.

BOOK FAIR:

The Scholastic Book Fair will be open on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

PTA FAMILY GLOW DANCE---SAVE THE DATE

PTA Family Glow Dance--complete with a real DJ and blacklights--is coming soon! It is going to be a fun event to celebrate the school year! Mark your calendars now: Friday, May 20th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

We will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week May 2nd-6th. We will be holding daily drawings throughout the week for our wonderful teachers and staff. If you would like to donate gift cards, small items, candy, or make a donation towards the drawing, please send it to the office marked Teacher Appreciation Week (include your name so we know who to thank). We have an incredible faculty and staff and we want to shower them with appreciation that week.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION:

Kindergarten Registration for next year continues. If you haven't already, please register online at http://www.sdale.org/page/enroll. If you need assistance registering, please come to school and we will be happy to help you register your child for Kindergarten. If your child is currently enrolled in the Springdale Public Schools Pre-K, you do not need to complete the registration online. Your child is already registered for Kindergarten. Please do not hesitate to call the office for assistance.

You should have received a form last week to purchase a 2021-22 yearbook. If you'd like to purchase a yearbook, the cost is $20. You can also use the link below to purchase online.

STATE TESTING: ACT ASPIRE

Students in grades 3rd-5th will take ACT Aspire the week of April 25th-29th. This is the test that they have been preparing for all year! Students will transition to their testing location each morning at 8:00 am. It is important that your child is at school each day and arrives on time. If your child is late on a testing day, he/she will not be able to test with their classmates and will have to make the test up at a different time. Please ensure your child is ready for testing each day by having them get plenty of rest and a good breakfast (a free breakfast is served each morning at school).

The students have worked hard this year and they are all ready to do their best. Our teachers are ready to have their students show what they have learned.

STATE TESTING: MAP

Students in Kindergarten-5th grade will take the MAP assessment soon. Please see the schedule below so that you know when your child is scheduled to test. It is important that your child is present and arrives at school on time each day. Thank you in advance for setting your child up to do their best.
