YCIS-SV Community Connection
August 26, 2026
Dear YCIS-SV Community,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! To our returning families, it is wonderful to see you again; we have missed you. To our new families, welcome to YCIS-SV! We are truly honored that you have chosen to begin this journey with us.
YCIS-SV is more than a school; it is a community built on trust, care, and a shared belief in every child’s potential. We know that children thrive when families and educators work closely together, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us each day.
This year, we look forward to filling our school with joyful learning, meaningful friendships, curiosity, creativity, and high expectations. Together, we will support each child to grow with confidence and kindness while striving for excellence in all that they do.
Thank you for being an essential part of our YCIS-SV family. We cannot wait to learn, celebrate, and grow together throughout this wonderful school year.
With warmth and appreciation,
Kevin & Vivian

A Warm Welcome to Each New Week and New Day!
It is wonderful to welcome our students and families back to school! Seeing their smiling faces, joyful energy, and excitement to reconnect has filled our campus with warmth. We are thrilled to begin a new school year together and look forward to many meaningful moments of friendship, growth, discovery, and joyful learning!
Every Monday, our students gather for a school assembly to begin the week together. We share important announcements and upcoming events, celebrate students’ achievements, and help everyone understand what to expect during the week ahead. In their classrooms, students also begin each day with Morning Meeting—a time to connect, share, and prepare for learning.
Together, these special moments help every child feel welcomed, valued, and connected to our caring school community.
Middle School Advisory
Our middle school students have been introduced to their advisors and are beginning to build the relationships that will support them throughout the year. Advisory is an important part of our middle school experience, providing students with guidance, mentorship, and a trusted space where they can ask questions, share concerns, and seek support as they navigate the challenges of growing and learning.
Advisory also provides ongoing academic support through regular check-ins. Teachers help students develop strong organizational and study habits, set meaningful goals, manage their responsibilities, and stay on track with their learning.
Most importantly, advisory gives every student a sense of belonging and connection. Through consistent support and mentorship, our advisors become the trusted adults whom students know they can turn to throughout the school year. ard to an inspiring year of learning and growth for all our students!
Please mark your calendars and join us for Back to School Night

Yew Chung Art & Language Program (YALP)
Welcome Back to YALP!
We are excited to welcome our students back to a new year at YALP! During the past two weeks, our teachers thoughtfully planned and prepared a variety of exciting games, activities, and shared experiences to help students build friendships and connections, not only within their own classes, but across grade levels and throughout the entire YALP community. Students had opportunities to meet new friends, work together, laugh, play, and discover what it means to be part of a caring community. We are off to a joyful start and look forward to a year filled with love, curiosity, meaningful experiences and growth!
