Dear GQES Chameleon Families,

What a beautiful fall day and weekend we have had. You can tell the temperatures are starting to drop which means, more students will be wearing layers to school. Please make sure to put your child's name on their sweatshirts, jackets, coats, hats and gloves. If you feel your child has misplaced an item, we do collect items in our lost and found at school. Encourage your child to visit the lost and found or reach out to the front office to find a good time to come in and look through the collection of items.

Thank you so much for joining us for our Starting Strong Parent Conferences where our students had a chance to share their learning with you while reviewing academic, behavior and attendance data. During conferences, we also shared our Title I presentation in the cafeteria. The last slide of the presentation contains a QR code where you have the opportunity to give us feedback on our Title I plan.

This week, we start our fall after school tutoring program for select students in grades 2-4.

After School Tutoring

Select students have been invited to join after school tutoring. After school tutoring will be held on the following Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:00 p.m. If you are picking your child up, please have a photo ID available.

VERY IMPORTANT DISMISSAL UPDATES FOR ALL STUDENTS:

• No transportation changes after 1:30 p.m. (If you need to make a change to your child's afternoon dismissal plan, please call the main office at 540-662-3575 before 1:30 p.m. and talk to a front office staff member.)
• No students being signed out after 2 p.m. (If you need to sign your child out early, you need to do this before 2 p.m.)
• For safety and emergency purposes, our GQES parking lot will be close daily at 2 p.m. and will reopen at 2:20 p.m. to begin our car rider dismissal procedures.

Please enter our parking lot by turning right into our parking lot off Southwerk Street. Thank you for your help and support to ensure the safety of our students.
