Message from Principals
The end of the school year is upon us! May will be a busy and exciting month at Monitor, and we look forward to wrapping up the school year making memories with our students! We are so proud of our students for all the ways in which they have grown this year. Students will have the opportunity to show all they have learned when the take the end of year ATLAS {Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System} tests. Several grade levels have field trips this month, and we're also looking forward to Career Day, 5th Grade Little Olympics, Stick Horse Rodeo, Senior Walk, Field Day, and our Student and Teacher Talent Shows. Looking ahead, we will continue our mobile book tour this summer at Randall Wobbe and The Heights on Oak apartments every Monday and we look forward to seeing some of students throughout the summer! We are so thankful for our students and families, and we wish you well as we wrap up the school year and head into summer!

End of Year ATLAS Testing
Our students will be taking end of year ATLAS {Arkansas Teaching & Learning Assessment System} tests in the month of May! Our 2nd graders have already completed testing, and our other grade levels will be testing following the schedule below. On the days your child is testing, please be sure they are well rested, on time, and have a a good breakfast {at home or at school} so they are ready to show all they know! Our mallards have grown so much this year, and we know they will make us proud!

Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher appreciation week is May 5th-9th, and we look forward to spoiling our teachers all week! If you would like to help contribute, there are two ways you can help. If you would like to contribute specific items we still need, you an sign up using the link below. Please have the items dropped off to the school by Friday, May 2nd. Or if you prefer to help by making a monetary donation, you can send donations via Venmo to @MonitorBoosterClub with a note that says "Teacher Appreciation Week" so we know how to direct the funds. If you have any questions, feel free to call the school office. We appreciate your support in helping us show our teachers how much we appreciate them!

Monitor Career Day
Career day is coming up soon! If you are interested in sharing information to students about your job with our students, please contact Mrs. Engelmann {our school counselor} at (479) 750-8749 or sengelmann@sdale.org. We need you and would love to have you!
5th Grade Celebration
We will have our5th grade celebration on Thursday, May 15th at 6:00pm. Families are invited to attend as we recognize our 5th graders and all they have accomplished during their elementary school years. Our 5th graders will also enjoy a celebration with their teachers and friends during the school day on Friday, May 16th and will end the year with a color run on Thursday, May 22nd. We are so proud of our 5th grade students and know they will continue to do great things as they head to middle school next year!
Field Day & Duck Day

Mallard University Summer Camp
Mallard University will be offering a summer camp June 3rd-5th from 10am-3pm for students in 2nd-5th grade. The summer camp will include field trips to the train station and airport, and lunch and snacks will be provided. Please complete the permission slip that was sent home and return it as soon as possible if you would like your child to attend.

Monitor Summer Book Tour
Come get a FREE lunch {all children birth thru 18 years} and a book on Mondays this summer all provided from our partners at First Church Springdale. We will be visiting Randall Wobbe apartments and The Heights on Oak apartments each week. We look forward to seeing our students and families!
