How We're Celebrating! 🎃
Dear Families,
Please read down for all the information you need to know about our school's celebration of Halloween!
Thank you for your cooperation! We are looking forward to a safe, fun, & spooky day at school!
- The Head Wizard 👻
🕓School Closes at 4:15 p.m🕓
School closes at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 30, with no evening events. So that means if your student forgets any part of their costume, they will not be able to get it until Monday.
Costume Rules 👺
🎃 Keep it Spooky, Not Scary: NO costumes with violent or bloody images. It's okay to look "spooky," but nothing gruesome or revealing.
👁️ Masks, Makeup & Hair: PreK NO MASKS. K-8, mask can be worn during the Pre-K - 5 Costume Runway & MS Costume Contest ONLY. Everyone, NO makeup or wigs, as they will be in costume all day. Temporary hair color is okay. Remember, learning is still happening, so we try to reduce distractions.
🧥 Safe Costumes: Make sure your child’s costume doesn’t have anything hanging below the wrist or ankle to avoid tripping or getting things caught. If your child is wearing a Blow Up costume, please know they will only be allowed to wear it during the runway or assembly, and K-5 parties.
🎒 Easy-to-Carry Props: If your child has props or something that detaches, KEEP IT AT HOME. If they forget them, you will not be able to come back and get them once school is closed.
🚫 No Weapons: Please don’t include any toy weapons in the costume. This includes fictitious weapons.
🏃 PE and 🚽Bathroom-Friendly Costumes: If your child has Physical Education on this day, pick a costume that’s safe and easy to move in. Please make sure a student can go to the bathroom while wearing their costume to avoid going in the costume.
Costume Runway
Parents, please join us in the wonderful tradition of our Costume Runway (formerly called Costume Parade).
The runway will begin with our PreK 4s at 2:25 p.m.
Kindergarten through Grade 5 will begin at 2:30 p.m.
- Our Runway experience will be fast. We suggest arriving on campus between 2:15 and 2:20 p.m.
- Park in the Upper Parking Lot by turning into our East Entrance and pulling up to the parking lot using the north pathway.
- ALL Spectators should check in at the table outside the Front Office Doors to sign in and get a sticker, then line up along A Zone.
- Runway route will start at our A Zone doors and continues along the front of the school.
After the runway ends, parents can pick up their K-8 student(s) at the B Zone doors and Preschoolers at the Northside entrance of the small playground.
- Please change each K-8 student's pickup to "Halloween Event Dismissal" in our PikMyKid App. Preschool students will stay as "Pre-K".
- Students will exit through the B Zone doors to find their parents. We will have staff on hand to help.
- Middle School Parents: If you want to pick up your PreK- 5th student after the runway but want your MS student to stay for their assembly, please park your vehicle in the B Zone. Please put your blue carpool tag up and proceed to the party/runway. After picking up your younger student, proceed back to your vehicle. Announce your MS student in the B Zone in PikMyKid and wait for afternoon carpool to begin.
🎃Classroom Party Volunteers🎉
A huge THANK YOU to all our Classroom Party Volunteers. You make this day very special.
Only those who are signed up as Classroom Party Volunteers may attend the parties. Thank you for your understanding.
K-5 Halloween Classroom Parties
K-5 Halloween Classroom Parties will take place on Friday, October 30, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (with 15 minutes before and after the parties for set-up and clean-up).
- Each classroom party will have up to five volunteers (this includes the party lead and room parents). In most classrooms, volunteers have already been selected by the room parents, and additional details are being shared directly via email. Volunteers, please stop by the Front Office prior to the party day to get your physical driver's license scanned if you haven't yet done so this year.
- While we love welcoming families into the school, we kindly ask that no additional siblings attend if you are volunteering in a classroom.
- After party clean-up, students will begin lining up for the BFA Costume Runway at 2:15 pm. The Runway will start with PreK 4s at approximately 2:25 pm outside the A Zone Doors, and all parents are welcome to attend! See more info about the BFA Costume Runway below.
- Volunteers may pick up their students through the PikMyKid App after the Runway.
If you have any questions about the elementary party coordination, please reach out to Alyssa Gale Freund, PTO Room Parent Coordinator.
Middle School Assembly - Friday, October 30
Our Middle School students will gather for a monthly assembly in the afternoon. During the assembly, we’ll celebrate our Costume Contest, recognize our Monthly Spark Award, and wrap up with some fun games!
- Due to the Elementary Costume Runway, the office will BE CLOSED at 2:15 p.m. that day. If you wish to pick up your Middle School student early, you must do so before 2:15 p.m. To help with Early Pickup that day, please let us know in advance via the BFA App or the attendance webpage.
- If you are going to the Costume Runway and would like to pick up your student(s) once the parade ends, please update your student’s dismissal in PikMyKid to “Halloween Parade Release” by 1:00 p.m. on October 30. You will meet your student by the B Zone doors.
- If you are attending the runway and would like your middle schooler to stay for the assembly, you may park in B Zone and watch the Costume Runway. Afterward, you can return to your car with your elementary students and wait for afternoon carpool to begin for your middle school student.
🚘Parking🚸
The driveway in front of the school will be closed from 2:10 p.m. until carpool starts. Spectators and Volunteers, please park in the upper parking lot.

🚘Afternoon Carpool & Early Pickup🏁
