22/23 Theme

We will travel the world! Each grade is selecting a continent and we will decorate and have special learning that will relate to our theme. We are excited about what next year will bring.

Here are the continents our grade levels have selected for next school year.

5th Grade - Asia

4th Grade - South America

3rd Grade - Africa

2nd Grade- Antarctica

1st Grade - Europe

Kinder - North America

PreK - Europe

Specials/Intervention Central/South America

Admin will be back to work on July 18th and teachers return on August 1st.

There is always a lot to prepare at the beginning of the year, so if you are willing to help us decorate, please email GCSuarez@garlandisd.net and let us know the day and time. We would love to have your help.

PTA Updates

Congratulations to our new PTA Board Members. We still have several open positions and need your support. We are only able to continue providing fun activities for our families with your support.

Calling all gardeners!

Do you know someone who likes to garden or just dig in the dirt? We need you!

We are working to revive our garden and make our courtyard a place for classes to enjoy. Please email abderden@garlandisd.net if you are interested in helping us get started.

Federal Programs Parent Video Series - May Video Release

In an effort to empower families and students in Garland ISD, the Federal Programs Department has developed a monthly parent video series aimed at informing and educating parents and families on topics that directly affect their students. It is our hope that these videos are quick, valuable pieces of information that can positively impact our shared responsibility for student success and achievement.

Our May video, How to Combat the Summer Slide, is dropping just in time for school to let out and summer reading to begin! The goal of this vignette is to assist parents in understanding the learning loss that naturally occurs with the start of summer vacation and some easy strategies they can utilize to help limit that "slide".

2nd Annual GISD Family and Community Engagement Conference

The 2nd Annual GISD Parent and Family Engagement Conference is almost here! Parents and family members will be able to learn, gather resources, and prepare for a great year!

Date: July 28 Location: Lyles Middle School Time: 4:30 – 7:30
