Lawrence W. Pingree Elementary
22-23 Template
October 30, 2022
Dear Pingree Community,
Happy Sunday!
Halloween tomorrow! A few reminders:
- Students may come to school in their costumes (please do NOT send costumes in bags for students to change into. Students will not be able to leave class to put on costumes)
- No masks
- No weapons (of any kind)
- No food
- Please be sure students are dressed comfortably and are able to use the bathroom without major costume issues
Please see the attached newsletter regarding SEPAC Awareness Month. In support of this important organization, we are asking staff and students to wear YELLOW on Tuesday!
Students are busy writing letters to Veterans. If students would also like to honor a veteran in their life, we will be sending home a template that can complete and bring back into school. A bulletin board with students' tributes will be displayed in the lunchroom. Thank you to Mrs. Donehey for organizing this project.
Parent Conferences will be November 15th and 16th. Conferences will be in-person on November 15th from 5:00-8:00pm and virtual on November 16th from 12:25-3:25 (early release day). Teachers will be sending out links for you to sign up for conferences on Tuesday November 1st.
Finally, the students will see a new face around Pingree this week. Ms. Lander will be helping support our school while Mr. Jeffers takes time to heal. Ms. Lander is a veteran teacher and Special Education Coach in the district and we are so thankful she will be helping us here at Pingree.
Mrs. Ronan
DESE Parent Forum
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has contracted with the American Institutes for Research (AIR) to conduct a district review of Weymouth Public Schools. The purpose of the district review is to provide formative and actionable feedback on district practices, enabling district leaders to reflect on progress and strengthen staff and student performance.
As part of this review, AIR will be conducting a virtual family focus group on Tuesday, 11/1/2022, from 6:00-7:00pm EST to gather perspectives on communication with families, opportunities for family involvement and leadership, opportunities for students within the district, and more. If you are interested in joining, please register ahead of time at this LINK.
