Good afternoon, Lincoln Families,

I hope you have had an enjoyable summer break. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the 2026-27 school year. We have been working hard over the summer in preparation for our students to return and we look forward to seeing them in just a few short weeks. Please be watching for our Start-of-School Newsletter on August 21st, that will include our start-of-year information to support you and your student.

To our new families, welcome to Lincoln! One of our primary ways we share information and updates is through our newsletter which is sent out through email and posted and archived on our Lincoln website. More detailed information about Lincoln can be found on our website including following our calendar and daily bulletin link, or through our PTSA Newsletter (make sure you join PTSA). You can also follow us on social media:

Facebook: @LincolnSeattle

Instagram: @lincolnseattle

YouTube: @LincolnHighSchoolASB

Please find some key dates and information below for our 9th Grade/New Student Orientation, Fall Athletics, Campus Beautification Day, registration for our first-annual fall fun run, and links for start of school fees (Optional Supply Fee, ASB, Yearbook).

Our counselors will be returning towards the end of next week to support our newly enrolled students from over the summer. Because we are still finalizing schedules, students won’t be able to access their final class schedule until September 1st. Please remember that course change requests cannot be processed at this time. We will share with students the link to the course change request once the school year has begun. If your plans have changed and your student will no longer be attending LHS, please complete the Not Attending Next Year Form

We are looking forward to a great year! The main office is now open from 9AM-3:00PM and you can also email us at lincoln@seattleschools.org.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support!

Best,

Corey

Important Announcements and Information Important Announcements and Information

Lincoln Beautification Day – August 19th

Help us get ready for the school year. Our annual Lincoln Beautification Day is coming up on August 19th from 10:00AM – 12PM. We have many open spaces at Lincoln, and they need a little TLC from time to time. We will be doing some easy gardening and cleanup to ready our school campus for the first day of school!

Please come through the main office entrance and we will start in the upper commons.

It is a great time to meet people and spend time with friends while earning Service-Learning Hours! Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle and your gardening/work gloves and tools if you have them. We will have snacks but if you have food allergies or preferences, please plan accordingly.

9th Grade and New Student Orientation – August 27th

Please join us for our New Student and 9th Grade Orientation on Thursday, August 27th from 6:30PM-8:00PM. Doors open at 6:15PM. Parking is limited, so we strongly encourage you to carpool or use other transportation options (walk, public transit, bike, etc.). Please be mindful of our neighbors and be sure you are not blocking driveways or the right of way of traffic.

Our new Lincoln students and their families are invited to this open house event. During the evening you will be able to:

  • Explore our campus

  • Meet teachers, counselors, coaches and administrators

  • Get signed up for clubs, activities, and learn how to register for athletics

  • Connect with our PTSA and on-campus Student Health Center (NeighborCare)

Pre-sessions will be held from 5:45pm-6:15pm for the following students and families

  • Students on IEPs: Room 111

  • Other student group pre-sessions TBD Additional details about each pre-session will be shared soon and updated on our website.

Additionally, for our families who are totally “new to High School”, we have a special “High School Parent/Guardian 101” informational event happening from 6:30PM-7:00PM in the Lincoln Auditorium. This event is geared specifically to provide hints and support to our parents/guardians who have their first student in high school or who are new to Seattle Public Schools. Students can explore the club fair and tour the building while you attend this event.

Help Build Community at Lincoln High School

The Lincoln PTSA is excited to launch the inaugural Lynx on the Loose: Catch Corey 5K—a fun, family-friendly event that brings together students, parents, teachers, alumni, neighbors, and local businesses for a morning of fun, fitness, and school spirit. This event isn't just about running a 5K. It's about strengthening the Lincoln community, supporting our students, and creating a new tradition that celebrates everything that makes Lincoln High School special.

Participants will run, jog, or walk the course as they try to catch Principal Dr. Corey Eichner, who will receive a head start before the race begins. Whether you're chasing Corey or cheering from the sidelines, everyone is welcome!

Student Schedules

Counselors are in the process of finalizing schedules. Finalized schedules will be available on the Source on September 1. Any schedules students accessed over the summer are not the final schedule and students need to log into the Source for their final schedule on September 1st. If needed, students can request a printed hard copy of their schedule in the Counseling Center on the first day of school. Please DO NOT email the Counseling department requesting a schedule change at this time. Please remember that course change requests cannot be process at this time. We will share with students the link to the course change request once the school year has begun.

If your plans have changed and your student will no longer be attending LHS, please complete the Not Attending Next Year Form

Athletic Field and Track and Field Update

Thank you to everyone who attended the Seattle Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners last night (8/13). We wanted to provide a quick update on the status of our future athletic field and track and field renovations at Lower Woodland. As you know, Seattle Public Schools has recommended a full-size field at N. 50th St. & Aurora Ave. N., plus a track renovation at Lower Woodland Field #7., to the Seattle Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners.

Last night, the Commissioners made two important votes in moving these projects forward.

  1. The commissioners voted to recommend that the Interim Superintendent, Michele Finnegan, approves moving forward with the Track and Field Renovation on Field #7.

  2. The commissioners voted to recommend that the Interim Superintendent, Michele Finnegan, approves moving into environmental review for the proposed full-size athletic field on N. 50th St. and Aurora Ave. N.

These were two important votes in support of these projects that will have great benefit to the Lincoln Community and city of Seattle. We will have additional updates for you in our next newsletter once we have a better idea of when the final decision will be made by Interim Superintendent Michele Finnegan.

Thank you again for your continued support. You can see ongoing updates and find additional details on the SPS project page.

Athletics and Student Activities Athletics and Student Activities

Athletic Information

Lincoln High School encourages all students to explore and participate in our athletic program. Fall sports officially begin August 19th for football and August 24th for all other sports. Please email individual coaches for more details on when and where practices will be held. Signing up through Final Forms and indicating the sport you would like to play is how the coaches build their distribution list.

All athletes need to have an updated sports’ physical, which is good for two years. If you need help finding a provider to get a physical, contact our Athletic Director, Ms. Ware, or our Teen Health Center.

For more information visit our LHS athletic page. Athletic registration for Fall, Winter & Spring can be found at our registration page.

While teams may suggest a financial donation as part of our fundraising to cover the costs of gear, supplies and other expenses from families, these are suggested donation amounts and should not prevent student participation. Athletics are open to all students regardless of the ability to pay any suggested sports fee.

Please visit Metro League for game and schedule information.

Clubs, Activities & Events

Clubs and Activities are a great way for students to connect and get involved at school. Lincoln has over 90 active clubs and it is easy to start a new one. For more information and to see a list of some of our student clubs, please visit the link below. Students will have access to club lists, leaders, and locations once they arrive on campus in September, and will have opportunities to get connected.

There are a lot of ways students get can involved at Lincoln. Please click the links below for more information about fall athletics and clubs at Lincoln.
