Hello TVMS Families,

Last week we showcased the hard work of our 7th and 8th grade G/T Social Studies students at our annual History Day Fair. The media center was filled with incredible projects that reflected the student’s research, analysis and creativity and we are proud of their hard work! Thank you to our Social studies team for preparing our students for this meaningful event and a special shout out to Ms. Jones-Wagner and Ms. Rice for their organization of the fair and its judges. We are also grateful for the community members that supported our school in helping to judge the projects.

Today we conducted a Lockdown drill as our continued commitment to prioritizing the safety of our school community. These drills are an important way for us to ensure staff and students know what to do in the case of an emergency. We encourage you to talk with your child about the drill and reach out with any questions.

As a reminder, schools and offices are closed next Monday and Tuesday in honor of Presidents’ Day and Lunar New Year.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mrs. Denise Young, Principal

Supporting our Students During Ramadan Supporting our Students During Ramadan

Ramadan, which begins on February 17, 2026 and continues through March 17, 2026, is a time of reflection, family, community, and charity. We understand that some students will be fasting, either partially or fully, and will be spending time in prayer at specific times.

If your TVMS student needs an alternative space for fasting or a space for prayer, please have your student fill out the Ramadan 2026 Google Form through their HCPSS account. They can also find this form linked in their TVMS Student Resources course in Canvas.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. LeAnn Rice, our DEIL liaison, at leann_rice@hcpss.org. Ramadan Mubarak!

Important Immunization Requirements for 2026-2027 School Year - 7th Grade Students

Effective the first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year, 1 dose of Tdap vaccine and 1 dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) are required by the state of Maryland for all students entering grade 7. Many students may have already received these immunizations, but the Health Room may not have the updated immunization record. Please contact your student’s doctor and send or fax an updated copy of your student’s immunizations to the Health Room or schedule an appointment to have your student receive these immunizations. Our fax number is 443-973-5510. The Health Department provides immunization opportunities for kids who are not up-to-date on school-required vaccinations. Call the Health Department at 410-313-7500 for more information and to schedule a vaccination appointment for your child.
