Hawk News1/24/2025Hendrickson High School

Message from Principal Grebb:

The unexpected snow day this week was a nice break, but it did disrupt the pace of this critical time in the school year. However, we quickly got back on track with three productive days of instruction. As we gear up for the long stretch until Spring Break, it's time to stay focused and committed.

This week brought plenty of achievements to celebrate. Our BPA chapter is sending an impressive 32 students to the state competition this Spring. Additionally, our talented artists earned recognitions in Scholastic Art and Writing Awards . In athletics, the swim team made waves at the district meet, with the girls finishing second and the boys placing third. Both teams are now preparing for Regionals.

Looking for plans next week? Don't miss the opening of Matilda on Thursday night. Performances will take place at 7 PM in the PAC, with three shows you won’t want to miss. Get some rest this weekend as the pace of the school year will continue to quicken.

The Anonymous Alerts is an anti-bullying and safety app reporting system that helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressure are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome. Students or parents can submit reports such as bullying, cyber bullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and more.

The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between the submitters (students, parents, or community members) and District administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.
