Happy Sunday, Pride!

I hope everyone is doing well on this cold, icy Sunday and staying warm. By now, you’ve likely heard that Monday will be an eLearning Day for Riverwalk Academy. Due to concerns about possible power outages, eLearning packets were sent home with students on Friday. For our middle and high school students, those materials are also available in Google Classroom.

Please be on the lookout for an update tomorrow regarding the school’s status for Tuesday.

Now on to some exciting news…

Can you believe this? Riverwalk Academy is only 85 students away from reaching maximum capacity. That means full enrollment, and waitlists across all grade levels. What an incredible milestone.

Even more exciting, we have more students applying for next year than ever before. With only a limited number of seats available (plus our incoming kindergarten class of 69 students), we’ve already received over 300 applications for the 2026–27 school year.

Pride, this happens for two reasons: because of you, the way you carry the Riverwalk banner in our community; and because of our amazing staff, who show up every day for students. I couldn’t be more proud of the community we’ve built at Riverwalk Academy, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such a special Pride. Thank you.

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, Intent to Return information has been emailed to all families and must be completed by February 6. Completing this form is essential as it helps us plan for staffing, class sizes, and programming for next year. If you have any questions or need assistance with the reenrollment process, please contact Ms. Mabey.

In addition, families who have other children they would like to enroll at Riverwalk Academy—especially students entering kindergarten, must complete the New Student Lottery Application, which is available on our website. For more information about enrollment, please contact Mr. Carroll.

This week, we are celebrating our inaugural Middle School Girls Basketball team! Stepping onto the court for the first time is a feat of its own, but doing so against veteran programs requires a special kind of grit. These athletes have shown incredible bravery and determination, proving that while their opponents might have more years of history, no one has more heart.

A foundational season like this requires steady leadership, and we want to extend a huge thank you to Coach Washington and Coach Glenn. Their dedication to coaching these trailblazers—teaching not just the game, but the value of resilience—has been the driving force behind this historic first season.

We are so proud of the legacy you are all building together.

Eriana, Paislee, Eli, Olivia, Zalayha, Callie, Leah, Caroline, you're an inspiration to our school and true leaders of our pride.
