Two-thirds of the McNear Elementary PTA budget is seeded from our annual Wish Benefit. We are back in school and excited to start rebuilding and growing. More than ever, we need everyone's support to refresh and continue our amazing McNear programs: MASC, TIDE, garden, performing arts, reading and so much more!

Even though we can't have our annual community event this round, we are hopeful that everyone can come together to support our Falcons in any way they can. Enjoy all the fun items collected by McNear families, including limited edition merch and raffles featuring beautiful class projects.

The auction closes on Sunday, April 18th at 9 pm. Make sure to get your bids in for some great items collected by the McNear community. The signboard weeks are going fast, see what is left to get your personalized message reserved for the 2021-2022 school year.

We still have a few open positions for PTA for next school year and we need volunteers to fill them as soon as possible. Most importantly, we need a PTA President for next year. Please let me know if you have any questions or interest about these positions. No experience is necessary for any of them, even if you have never attended a PTA meeting. This next year will be a great year to be involved, as we begin to have more in person events and reconnect with each other! Come to Monday's meeting to learn more. Thank you!

Please set an alarm on your phone, place a few sticky notes around the house, put a chair upside down in front of the door, whatever might help support this essential habit. We will be sending out morning Parent Square reminders and paper forms to those who need them. Please avoid calls from the office and help us all stay healthy, safe and open.

The *State of California* will be sending out new Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) food cards to families who are eligible for free and reduced meals. P-EBT cards are *sent directly to eligible families by the State* and can be used to purchase food for their children, like a debit card. Apply now for free and reduced meals for your students if you have not already done so this school year, as this is the only way you will receive the next P-EBT card.

Families can apply for free/reduced meals through Titan School Solutions in a variety of languages. If you need help applying or updating your address, call the district's Petaluma Family Resource Center (FRC) at 707-778-4697. Petaluma Arts Center has partnered with local elementary schools to celebrate Earth Day with the theme Restore Our Earth. Each student at McNear has handmade wildflower seed paper to plant around campus or at Home. The PAC (230 Lakeville St. near the train station) has family events planned as well:

• Saturday, April 17th and Thursday April 22nd from 3-6pm
• Drum circle led by Kim Atkinson from 3-4pm and climate poetry slam at 4:30pm
• Make Pledges to the Planet postcards, seed paper art, sidewalk chalk art, painting and more...
