Edison Newsletter!
Dear Edison Family,
It has been another wonderful week here at Edison Elementary, and we are excited to celebrate the many accomplishments and contributions of our students, staff, and community partners.
We would like to congratulate Alyssa Galaviz, our District Employee of the Month, for her amazing contributions to our campus. Her dedication, positivity, and commitment to supporting our students and staff make a tremendous difference every day. We are also proud to recognize Jessica Borden as our Campus Teacher of the Month. Her hard work, passion for teaching, and unwavering commitment to our students truly reflect the excellence we strive for at Edison.
We are especially proud of our Students of the Month, Aitanna Almanza Muniz and Mia Cordorva. Their determination, strong work ethic, and positive attitudes make them outstanding role models for their peers. They truly embody what it means to be an Edison Leopard, and we are so proud of their accomplishments.
We would also like to give a big shout out to Red River Dental for providing our Kindergarten students with dental hygiene education this week. We appreciate their partnership in helping our students learn the importance of healthy habits.
We are also excited to invite you to our Dr. Seuss Literacy Night on March 4th. This will be a fun, family-centered evening filled with reading activities, games, and opportunities to celebrate literacy. Please see the information below for more details.
Looking ahead, our students will soon be showcasing their talents during our spring concerts. Kindergarten concerts will take place in March, and 1st grade concerts will be held in April. Please review the flyers below for specific dates and times.
β Character Lesson of the Month: Honesty
Our character focus for the month is Honesty. Students will be learning about the importance of telling the truth, being trustworthy, and making responsible choices. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Edison community. Together, we continue to make our school a great place to learn and grow. It is always a great day to be a Leopard!

Recurring reminders:
Traffic Reminder π
To help keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently, please turn right when exiting the school during arrival and dismissal. This small change will help reduce congestion and ensure a smoother transition for all families. Thank you for your cooperation!
Also, when crossing the street or high traffic areas, please make sure to be crossed by a crossing guard at the cross walk, thank you.
Reading and Writing at home: We do a great deal of reading and writing at school. Parents/Guardians, if you could help us out by helping your kiddos with their home work, also reading to them, and having them write something short and age appropriate (pre-k: trace some letters, Kinder: write a few short words, 1st grade: write a short sentence), would go a long way.
Homework Reminder: I want to take this opportunity to encourage all parents to support their children with their homework. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success. By working together, we can ensure that our students are reaching their full potential.
Parental Involvement: Research consistently shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. I am proud to share that our school has seen a significant increase in parental engagement over the past year. Let's keep up this positive momentum as we work together to support our children's learning journey.
Summer School Update: I must inform you that there will not be summer school offered this year for attendance recovery. Therefore, it is imperative that your student attend school on time each and every day unless they are sick. If they are sick please leave a doctors note with the front office.
School policy: Parents, we will not allow early pick up of students after 3pm, including Doctors appointments, etc...
Transportation Changes: ALL Transportation changes must be made no later that 12pm. Any changes after that time cannot be made. Thank you,
