Dear Paul F. Doyon Memorial School Families,
It has been another wonderful and joy-filled week at the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School! π Following the long weekend, our learners returned refreshed, energized, and excited to jump back into learning. With just four weeks remaining in the 2026β2027 school year, students and staff alike are working hard to make every moment meaningful and memorable. πβ¨
Our fifth grade students recently traveled to Boston, where they enjoyed the exciting Duck Tours as part of a special field trip celebrating their years of growth and learning at Doyon School. What a fantastic way to honor this important milestone!
Meanwhile, our third grade students explored the historic Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth. Through this immersive experience, students discovered the rich history of our country - from Indigenous history through present day - bringing their classroom learning to life in meaningful ways.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to welcome our incoming Kindergarten students to our βFull STEAM Aheadβ event next Tuesday afternoon! ππ¨π¬ If you have an incoming kindergartener, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of fun as students meet new friends, explore the playground, connect with staff, and participate in a variety of engaging STEAM activities. We cannot wait to meet our newest learners and families!
As always, if you have any questions, wonderings, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out - we are always here to help. Be sure to review the many exciting upcoming events as we head into the close of the school year. There is so much to celebrate, and we look forward to seeing many of you at our end-of-year activities and celebrations! π
Warmly,
Mr. Whitehouse-Mullen, Principal
Mrs. Benincasa, Assistant Principal
Field Day
Field Day will take place on Tuesday, June 9 (rain date June 10th). Kindergarten through Grade 2 take place in the morning and 3rd through 5th in the afternoon.
Due to a phenomenal response to our volunteer request we regretfully must say that we are not allowing spectators at this event for safety and parking concerns.
Thank you,
Whitney Cardew (wcardew@ipsk12.net)
Mark Southam (msoutham@ipsk12.net)

EDP on Beach Day
Morning EDP will be available only at Winthrop School. There will be no morning EDP at Doyon School on Beach Day. Students who typically attend morning EDP at Doyon are welcome to attend at Winthrop and may ride the bus transporting students to the beach.
Please note that afternoon EDP will be closed at both schools on Beach Day.
Beach Day is on Wednesday, June 17th (Rain Date: Monday, June 22nd).
Doyon CARES
As we continue into this homestretch of the school year (Can you believe that Monday is June 1st!?), it is a great time to take a few minutes with your child to revisit CARES. Sometimes excitement, anticipation, or fatigue make demonstrating CARES more challenging. Talking about this and helping your child be prepared during field trips, end of year celebrations, and just those last, warm days can make a big difference! Thank you for all you do to support CARES at home!

Nurse's Notes
Hello Doyon Families!
For starters, there is a viral illness scattered around school presenting with some upset tummies! This is also tending to linger for a few days with feeling very tired with little appetite. Let me know as we continue to track illnesses.
Please remember that sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before school if needed and all medication (over the counter or prescription) should be brought in to school by an adult and accompanied by a doctor's order. Thank you for your attention to this.
I have pulled a few ticks off students already so please check your kiddos -especially around ears and scalp.
Click the link below for info on how to remove a tick:
If you think the tick has been attached for greater than 36-48 hours, monitor your child for signs and symptoms of lyme disease including a bull's eye rash, joint pain, and fever. A blood test can be done at 3-4 weeks, sooner if your child develops symptoms, and treatment is antibiotics.
Contact your child's pediatrician or feel free to reach out with any questions.

School Safety
Curious about school safety procedures? Take a peek at the documents displayed below. These documents are shared with students at the start of the school year by Detective Joe Perna, our School Resource Officer. The documents may serve as a guide to support families in discussing school safety. As always, please be in touch with questions around school safety at the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School.
