Support IPEF Team Kendall!
Please consider supporting one of our Team Kendall IPEF Runners this year. We are a small but mighty group of 3 representing Kendall in October: Kristy Brown, Breah Jerger, and Jen Neufeld.
All money donated goes directly to IPSD! 50% come directly to Kendall. The other 50% goes to IPSD programs such as Robotics, Fine Arts, Fest, and Young Hearts for Life Cardiac Screenings.

To help support our runners, we will be selling Candy Counter Smencils, Oh-so-Yumny Backpack Buddies, and Sports Backpack Buddies to raise funds. The sale will happen from 8:50 to 9:15 on Thursday and Friday this week (while supplies last). Smencils are $1 and Backpack Buddies are $5.
E-Bike and E-Scooter Information for Families
As we work together to ensure a safe environment for all of our students, staff, and families, we want to provide some important reminders regarding the use of electric bikes (e-bikes) and scooters (e-scooters).
With an increasing number of students riding e-bikes and e-scooters to and from school, we are seeing a higher frequency of safety incidents on campus. While these devices may seem convenient, they present safety concerns for both riders and pedestrians, especially during busy arrival and dismissal times. For that reason, e-bikes and e-scooters are not permitted on school property.
We also want to make families aware of local regulations. E-bikes and e-scooters are not allowed on sidewalks and must follow the same traffic laws as bicycles. In most municipalities, Class 3 e-bikes require riders to be at least 16 years old, and state law prohibits operating low-speed e-scooters unless the rider is at least 18. Riders are required to use bike lanes or remain near the curb, and at night must have proper lights and reflectors.
We encourage parents to talk with their children about these rules and remind them to walk, ride traditional bicycles, or use other safe methods when traveling to and from school. If unsafe or illegal use is observed in the community, parents are encouraged to contact their local police department.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students and school safe.

i-Ready Assessment Notification
IPSD 204 i-Ready Benchmark Assessments Overview
Indian Prairie School District 204 administers i-Ready benchmark assessments in the fall, winter, and spring to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The i-Ready assessments evaluate student academic performance and growth in the areas of reading and mathematics.
What is the I-Ready Assessment?
i-Ready is an online, computer-adaptive test that matches the difficulty of test questions to the proficiency level of each student. As students answer questions correctly, they will get more difficult questions. As students answer questions incorrectly, they will get easier questions. The assessment adapts to find the precise proficiency level of each student in the quickest, most efficient way possible. The purpose of this is not to give your child a score or grade but to determine how to best support their learning. Many students will see material teachers haven’t taught. This is an intentional part of the design of the adaptive assessment. Students may see above-grade level material and below-grade level material. The assessment is designed for students to get about 50% of the questions correct and 50% incorrect to help identify their proficiency on a range of skills in reading and math.
How to Access My Child's Scores
Individual student scores will be available through Parentvue. The assessment results are used by teachers and administrators to assist with instructional planning and differentiation at the grade, classroom, and student level.
Should you have any questions regarding i-Ready, please contact your child's teacher.
Join the Kendall Birthday Book Club!
The Kendall Library Media Center has a wonderful way to celebrate your child's birthday! When you donate a book in honor of your child, they become a member of the Kendall Birthday Book Club. This special program helps us grow our library collection while making your child feel celebrated on their birthday.
Here’s how it works:
1. You and your child will choose a book from our "Kendall Birthday Book Club Wish List" on Amazon and purchase it. The book will be shipped directly to Kendall Elementary. See link below.
2. Complete the Google Form with the information needed to create a special commemorative bookplate celebrating your child's birthday. See link code below.
3. We will take your child's picture with their birthday book and use it to create their personalized bookplate, which will be placed inside the front cover of the book.
4. Once the book has been processed, your child will be the very first person to check it out and enjoy it before it becomes part of the Kendall LMC collection.
Please follow this link to:

VOLINTEER INTEREST FORM
🙋 We Need You! Volunteer Interest Form is Open
Our PTA coordinates over 20 programs and events every year — and honestly, we can't do it without volunteers like you. No experience needed, and every bit of help counts, whether you have an hour a month or want to dive into planning.
Volunteering is one of the best ways to feel connected to our school community, meet other parents, and know your kids are seeing you show up for them. Take two minutes to fill out the volunteer interest form and tell us what fits your time and talents — with remote and in-person roles across every committee, there's truly something for everyone.
Thank you for sharing your time and talent — a little help goes a long way!
