General Instructions for All Families
- For morning drop off, enter the school driveway and maintain a single file line of cars.
- When possible, students should exit vehicles on the passenger side of the car so they can get to the sidewalk quicker.
- As much as you are able, drive toward the crosswalk that is just past the cafeteria doors to let out your student(s). This helps to maximize the number of vehicles in the driveway and out of the street. We do get complaints from some neighbors if the cars back up into the street too much.
- Please beware of our neighbors who may need to get out of their driveways in the morning and avoid blocking them in if you do need to wait in the street before turning into our school.
- When exiting the parking lot, right turns only are allowed. This is to keep traffic flowing through the parking lot as efficiently as possible. We understand that driving around the block may be less convenient for some families but appreciate your cooperation as we work keep drop off safe and moving quickly for everyone.
Dismissal is by grade level at the times and locations noted below.
General Instructions for All families:

- Please, do not come up to the building front door. No students are dismissed from the front door. Our office staff are busy supporting the dismissal procedures and are not able to answer the door.
- When exiting the parking lot, right turns only are allowed. This is to keep traffic flowing through the parking lot as efficiently as possible. We understand that driving around the block may be less convenient for some families but appreciate your cooperation as we work to get all students back to their families as quickly and safely as possible.

Siblings of a household are dismissed at the same location together. The location is determined by the youngest sibling's grade.
A Note For Early Pick Ups:
The school office closes for student pickups between 2:30 pm and 3:20 pm each day. This helps our staff to be sure that they can fully support a smooth transition to school dismissal. If you have to pick up your student up after 2:30 pm, you must call the office before 2:00 pm. The office phone number is 614-365-5488.
If Your Student Will No Longer Ride the Bus:
If your student will no longer need school bus transportation, letting us know makes a real difference. When families communicate these changes in advance, our drivers can adjust routes to better serve students who are actively riding. This keeps our transportation running smoothly and helps us direct resources where they're needed most. You can notify the transportation office at 614-365-5074, or your principal, at any time, and we'll update our routes accordingly.
If Your Student Will Not Be Riding the Bus Temporarily:
We understand that schedules change. If your student won't be riding the bus for a period of time but plans to return — whether due to illness, transportation arrangements, or other changes — please let us know the dates they'll be absent. A quick message to the transportation office (614-365-5074) helps us plan more efficient routes and keeps your student's spot secure for when they're ready to ride again. Without notice, students who don't board for five consecutive days are automatically removed from the route, so a quick heads-up saves their seat.
Thank you for helping us get every student to school safely and on time!
We can not wait to welcome all of our Northtowne Knights back into the building!!
