Patriot's Pointe

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
We are excited to welcome back our students for the 2026-2027 school year! We had a fantastic turn out for Open House and we hope all students were able to find a club, organization, artistic, or athletic group they can join for the upcoming year. Students will be given a paper copy of their class schedules tomorrow when they arrive to first period. All first period locations will be posted in the cafeteria, bus lane, and entrance from the student parking lot. School officially begins on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 8:35am and we have some exciting changes in store that will help us with our continuous improvement to maintain a competitive advantage!
Electronic Device Use
At Sandy Creek High School, we are committed to creating a learning environment where every student can thrive. To support a strong and focused start to the school year, students may not use personal electronic devices including cell phones, earbuds/headphones, Meta glasses, smart watches, or similar devices, during the school day. This expectation applies in all areas of the building, including classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, gym/locker rooms, and restrooms. By minimizing distractions and maximizing opportunities for engagement, we are helping our students build meaningful connections, remain present in their learning, and begin the year with the habits that lead to success. We appreciate your partnership and support as we work together to provide every student with a positive learning experience.
Student Dress Code
Parents, we need your help! Please check your individual student in the morning for the following items:
The length of tennis skirts are not in compliance with the FCBOE dress code policy. Please do not allow your student to wear tennis skirts to school, even if the skirt comes with shorts attached.
No shirts tied in the back or tucked underneath undergarments that expose the mid-section
No blankets, pajama pants, bedroom shoes/slippers, or robes
Pants must not have any holes above the knee
Hoodies, hats, scarfs, bonnets can not be worn on students' heads when inside of the building
Students should not tie their shirts in a knot at the front, back, or side of the shirt.
Any shirt that exposes skin at the waist (including shirts that are tied in a knot at the back)
Skirts and shorts must have a hemline that meets the finger tips in length
This week students will engage in class meetings by grade level on Thursday and Friday. During this meeting students will get an opportunity to hear from their class sponsors about the exciting and unique things they will do together as a class and we will review the Fayette County Code of Conduct in detail. An electronic copy of the Code of Conduct is featured at the bottom of our newsletter for your review at any time.
I want to personally thank former Sandy Creek students Geimere Latimer, II and Amari Latimer for making a personal donation of $10,000 to our Athletics program. I had the privilege to watch them grow as students and athletes and my heart is full that they have reached back to their high school to give back in such a meaningful way. Both young men are enrolled at the University West Virginia playing Division I Football.
We want to recognize our outstanding marching band for giving parents a preview of their halftime show on Saturday morning. They sound better than ever and we hope that everyone comes out to support our band and their new halftime show: Michael Jackson!
This week our Varsity Softball team will face off at home against Woodland at 6pm on Thursday to kick off their season! A schedule of all of our events can be found further down in our "Weekly Happenings" section.
Here’s to a powerful start and a year where we will Do Hard Things!
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

New Parent Drop Off and Bus Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Please note that we have updated our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures. These changes are intended to separate parent vehicles from student drivers, creating a safer environment for students as they cross the street and enter the building.
Bus Arrival/Dismissal:
Students who ride the bus will be dropped off and picked up in the back of the school behind the cafeteria.
Student Drivers:
Students who drive to school must park only in the designated student parking lot and display a valid parking pass on their rearview mirror. After parking, students should use the designated sidewalk adjacent to the student parking lot and remain on that path when entering the cafeteria each morning. Students are not permitted to park in the faculty parking lot. Violators will lose their parking privilege and have a sticker placed on their vehicle.
Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up:
Parent drop-off and pick-up will now take place at the front entrance of the school through the faculty parking lot. Please follow the traffic flow indicated by the arrows in the diagram below. To help ensure that faculty and staff can arrive and begin the school day on time, we ask that parents refrain from parking in faculty parking spaces during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and support as we implement these updated procedures. Thank you for partnering with us to help make our arrival and dismissal process as safe and efficient as possible for all students and staff.
La hora límite para la salida de estudiantes es a las 3:15. No se harán excepciones después de esta hora.

Parent Square: Your Hub for Communication!
The Parent Square app is available in the App Store and Google Play.
The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.

Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 2, 2026. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 2, 2026.
2026-2027 Student Code of Conduct
To ensure accurate bus information for every student, Fayette County Public Schools requires families to formally request transportation services before riding the school bus.
All students MUST BE REGISTERED in order to ride a bus. Please convey transportation needs for student(s) by logging into your Campus Parent portal and navigating to the Survey tool. Click here for more information on completing Campus Surveys.
School bus information will also be available in your student's Campus Portal account as well as on the BusQuest mobile app.
Please note that new enrollments and address changes may take up to 48 hours to be processed by the Transportation Department. This time is needed to assign students to a bus stop and/or adjust their route if necessary.
- Students attending outside their school zone on special permission are not eligible for bus transportation
- Students living within a non-transport zone are not eligible for bus transportation.
Student Parking Pass
Student Parking passes are available all year for $70 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.
