Bulldog Bulletin
The Week of August 23rd
Note from Mr. Overly
Springer Families,
The start of a new school year is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our Bulldogs back to Springer Middle School this week!
As we begin the year, our theme of Connections will be at the heart of everything we do. Middle school is about so much more than academics—it’s about students building strong connections with their teachers, classmates, school, and community. We want every student who walks through our doors to know that they are seen, valued, supported, and an important part of the Springer family.
There is always a special energy at the beginning of a new school year—new teachers, new classes, new friendships, and new opportunities. Our staff has been working hard to prepare, and we are ready to make this a great start for our students.
To our 6th graders, we can’t wait to welcome you on Wednesday, August 26, for your first official day as Springer Bulldogs! Having the building to yourselves will give you a chance to get comfortable, learn your schedule, meet your teachers, and begin making those important connections.
On Thursday, August 27, we look forward to having our entire Bulldog family together as our 7th and 8th graders join us and we officially kick off the 2026–2027 school year!
Enjoy the final weekend of summer, get those backpacks ready, and get excited. Springer is ready for you!
Here’s to a year of learning, growth, belonging, and CONNECTIONS.
See you soon, Bulldogs! 💙🐾

Student Schedules
Questions or concerns regarding schedules should be directed to your student's grade-level counselor.
At this time, our counseling team is prioritizing students who have incomplete schedules. We are not processing teacher or subject changes based on preference requests at this time. We appreciate your patience as our counselors work to ensure every student has a complete schedule for the start of school.

🚌 Important Transportation Information
As Brandywine School District continues to move more information to a digital format, bus transportation information will now be available through Infinite Campus (IC) rather than mailed home. Families are encouraged to log in to Infinite Campus before the first day of school to review their child’s bus number, bus stop location, and pick-up/drop-off times.
Please take a few minutes to check this information in advance so we can help make the first days of school as smooth and safe as possible for all of our Bulldogs!

Want to play sports at Springer?
If your child is interested in playing a sport at Springer, they will need to get a physical and have your doctor fill out the physical form. Visit Springer's Sports website for additional information: https://www.springermiddlesports.com/
We will be starting tryouts on Tuesday, 9/1. The signup link has been posted to our sports website. (2026 Fall Sports Signups)
Volunteers
We would love to have our Springer families involved this year!
Any parent or guardian interested in volunteering at school or chaperoning field trips must complete the required Brandywine School District volunteer paperwork. The paperwork is available on the Brandywine School District website.

Bulldog Highlights!
Congratulations to our Springer students artist whose work has been selected for the Philadelphia International Airport Traveling Peace Exhibition! Their artwork will join 31 pieces from students across Delaware and will be displayed at the airport for an entire year beginning this December. We are incredibly proud to see our Bulldog’s creativity and vision of peace shared with travelers from around the world!
