Dear Reidy Creek Families,

This week, we celebrated Read Across America Week! The week was filled with crafts, guest readers, and buddy activities that recognized the importance of reading. I even had the pleasure of reading some of my favorite stories to many of our classes. Our first graders also celebrated a huge milestone in their educational journey on Thursday. They celebrated the 120th day of school with special activities throughout the day. Both students and teachers were all smiles as they walked around campus with their crowns, badges, and/or certificates!

Report Cards:

All report cards for the second trimester were sent home this afternoon in your child’s backpack. These report cards reflect your child’s current progress toward end-of-year standards. As with any communication around progress, it is our goal to ensure that families understand what is specifically expected of each child and how well he or she is progressing toward meeting or exceeding grade-level standards. As a reminder, the goal for all Reidy Creek students is to meet end-of-year standards by the end of Trimester 3. This is a great opportunity to review current strengths with your child and areas to focus on for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's progress, contact your classroom teacher.

Once you have reviewed the report card, please sign the envelope and return it by Tuesday, March 11th. Your signature indicates that you received a copy of the report card.

PTA Information:

I also want to take this opportunity to thank our PTA Executive Board. They do an excellent job organizing both school and community events, finding volunteers, fundraising, and allocating funds to our school. Members of the Executive Board can only serve for two years in one position. We are actively looking for parents willing to serve on the PTA Executive Board for the 2025-2026 school year. The new Board member ratification will take place at the Association meeting on Tuesday, April 15th. If you, or someone you know, is interested, please email reidycreekpta@gmail.com.

ELPAC Testing:

If your child is a current English Language Learner, they will need to participate in ELPAC testing which will occur between March 12th - March 28th. This testing includes four reading, writing, listening, and speaking sessions. You will be notified if your child is required to take this test. Students had the opportunity to partake in a practice session before they begin the test next week.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Megan Loh

PTA Events - Volunteers Needed PTA Events - Volunteers Needed

We are in need of several volunteers for a few upcoming events.

Our Glow Party will be held on Friday, April 4th, from 5:30-7:30. We are looking for parents to help run this event smoothly. Volunteers are needed to set up the event, help out during the event, and clean up. This is one of our favorite community-building activities that the PTA holds, and we are hoping to make it a huge success. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this glow party volunteer form.

Our FAVE Art Festival is our biggest event of the year! Following Open House, it's the perfect culmination of the school year. This year is our 20th anniversary of the FAVE Festival and we are in need of many parent volunteers to help the event run smoothly. Our FAVE committee is looking for two volunteers from each classroom to help set up, run games/activities, and clean up. Please know that the FAVE festival is after Open House ends, so parents will still be able to visit their child’s classroom before helping. Please fill out this FAVE Volunteer form to indicate your interest and availability.

Yearbook Purchase Yearbook Purchase

Yearbooks are still available for purchase, but the deadline to order is quickly approaching! After March 21st, this date, parents will only be able to pay by check or cash.

Families can still purchase online by using this yearbook ordering link.

State Testing State Testing

Please refrain from scheduling any appointments or vacations during state testing. Testing for 3rd-5th grade students is scheduled for Monday, May 5th through Friday, May 23rd. Thank you in advance for helping ensure all students attend school during this time.

All K-5th grade students will also be taking the Spring iReady Diagnostic test in May. This test provides excellent data on how students have grown towards grade level standards this year.

Following the presentation, parents can join their children for lunch in our courtyard.

4/23/25 - Second Grade - Navigating friendships through SEL

5/21/25 - Fourth Grade - Digital Safety

The parent presentations will all be in the MPR 30 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. After the presentation, families will be invited to enjoy lunch in the courtyard with their child. Grade level flyers will be sent home closer to each event.
