The News
It was an incredibly busy but fun week at PCHS. It started off with our yearbook dedication. The yearbook staff dedicated it to Coach Amy Moss. Coach Moss has been teaching for 28 years (22 at PCHS). She coached girls basketball from 2005-2010 and led the girls to the Regionals at Wallace-Hanceville in 2006. She coached girls track for 21 years. In 2021, Coach Moss started the girls volleyball program and is currently head volleyball coach. She also takes Seniors to New York City each year.
Speaking of volleyball, our teams are off to a good start. Our varsity team is currently 6-1 after the first week of competition beating Phillips, Shoals Christian, Red Bay, Hamilton, Tharptown, and Falkville. They finished runner-up in the Colbert Heights Invitational. The competition will increase significantly this week as they travel to play Haleyville, Fayette County, East Lawrence and Deshler. Our junior varsity and junior high teams picked up wins on Thursday against Phillips and Shoals Christian.
Although, our football team didn't get the outcome everyone wanted Friday night at Red Bay, there were a great many lessons to be learned. I am confident they can rebound for Central this week and our region opener against Lexington next week. There is a lot of good leadership on this team and they will step up and get everyone focused. There is a lot of football left to be played.
We announced our 2026-27 Homecoming Court Saturday morning. There was a tie for the final spot this year so there will seven girls instead of the usual six. There were a lot of great and deserving girls in this class. Congratulations to Alaina Burcham, Sadie Champion, Adeline Hunderman, Addi James, Shiloh Madden, Ragan Moss, and Daylee Trapp. I know you all will represent PCHS well.
Our Seniors attended a college fair this week on the campus on Northwest Shoals Community College in Phil Campbell.
Have A Great Week!
