❓ What is TPRS? Is it the same as TAPR?
The Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS) integrates state and federal reporting requirements into a single reporting system that can be viewed at the campus, district, region, and state level. As the most comprehensive reporting system published by TEA, TPRS provides additional performance reports, results, and indicators for student groups not previously reported on state accountability data tables, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), or the School Report Card. TPRS is the enhanced online version of TAPR. It has been recently updated with Remote vs. In-Person Data. TEAL Accountability application will show you unmasked data.
The TPRS Glossary provides definitions, describes methodologies, and lists sources for each tab in the TPRS system.
Update District Contacts in AskTed
Please remember to update AskTED with any changes for the 2022-2023 school year.
Check to make sure you have a DTC and an Accountability contact in AskTED and that they are current. Only 40% of Region 10 districts have someone listed for the Accountability district contact.
TEA, Student Assessment, Performance Reporting, and the ESC use these lists to relay important information to districts.

2022 Accountability Ratings
The official 2022 accountability ratings, data tables, and reports are now available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application for approved district users.
The reports in TEAL are confidential and should not be shared with the public. Ratings and public versions of the data tables (with masked data) will be available here and on TXschools.gov on Monday, August 15.
A district wishing to appeal a campus or district accountability rating should register its intent to appeal using the TEAL Accountability application and submit a written appeal with supporting documentation to the commissioner. Detailed instructions on submitting an accountability rating appeal are provided in “Chapter 8—Appealing the Ratings” of the 2022 Accountability Manual.
On August 15, all 2022 accountability reports will be released on the agency’s public website and on TXschools.gov.

2022 Accountability Manual and Administrator’s Guide
Due to the redesign of the reading language arts (RLA) STAAR, the inclusion of new item types in mathematics, the shift to a fully online assessment system, and required standard setting and validation processes, STAAR Progress Measures will NOT be calculated for 2022–23. In 2023 the new Transition Table will measure growth.
2023 Accountability
The Preliminary 2023 Academic Accountability System Framework is now available. As part of the continuous improvement process, the agency spent two years consulting with stakeholders on enhancements to the accountability system. The proposed enhancements described in the preliminary framework are designed to provide parents, community members, and educators with the data essential to drive improved outcomes for all Texas children.
This document provides an overview of the proposed adjustments and is intended to guide discussions and spur additional stakeholder feedback, which will be gathered through fall 2022.
Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback through October 1, 2022, to help inform an updated October accountability system framework, which will be published in late October 2022. Texas Formative Assessment Resource (TFAR)
TFAR is a free, optional platform used by educators to create, administer, analyze, and share formative assessments. Teachers will be able to analyze the results of these formative assessments to help inform instructional choices such as making immediate lesson plan adjustments or providing specific interventions for students at the level of individual standards.
TFAR is meant to supplement and support existing LEA resources and formative assessment practices. Assessments created in TFAR should be combined with a broader set of classroom formative practices that are part of a coherent instructional framework.
Additionally, formative assessments from select, high quality instructional materials (HQIM) with an open education license will be available to administer through the same online test administration system as assessments created using TFAR. Assessments from math and RLA curricula, grades K-5, will be prioritized, and other, select curricula’s assessments will be released on a rolling basis. More information about which HQIM products’ tests will be available in the online system and the release dates of these tests will be available in the fall.

Tax Information Survey Closes 8/31/2022
Please disregard this message if your district has already submitted the Tax Information Survey (TIS) to the TEA for the 2021-2022 school year. As a reminder to districts that have not yet submitted their 2021-2022 form, the TIS for the 2021–2022 school year opened for data submission on June 1, 2022, and will close at midnight on August 31, 2022.
If your district does not submit the survey by the deadline, your district’s state funding for the 2021–2022 school year could be adversely affected. Please do not submit any tax data related to the upcoming 2022 tax year (2022–2023 school year). The TIS is not applicable to charter schools or institutions of higher education.
Please ensure that your district has completed and submitted the TIS using the online FSP System by August 31, 2022. Completing the survey is important because it allows the agency to use the most accurate tax collections data possible when we calculate 2021-2022 near-final Summary of Finances (SOF) estimates in September 2022. Your district will not have another opportunity to submit revised tax collections data for the 2021-2022 school year until the district submits its J-1 schedule as part of its annual financial and compliance report. The J-1 schedule tax collections will not be incorporated in the 2021-2022 SOF until April 2023.
The TEA recommends that a designated Data Survey User, usually the business manager or CFO, enter the information into the TIS. The FSP System requires that a designated District Approver, usually the superintendent, submit the TIS data to the TEA.
The FSP System is an application within the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL). If you already have a TEAL account but do not have access to the FSP System, please apply for access by clicking the My Application Accounts button found in the upper-left corner of the Self-Service menu. In the My Accounts tab, click on Request New Account and select the FSP hyperlink for the Foundation School Program application. Select the Add Access, insert your employing organization (district name/county district number), and select the applicable roles. If you already have access to the FSP System, please check that you have the appropriate role assigned for submitting the data.
If you are not the superintendent or District Approver: Your district’s Service Account Manager must approve all requests for access to the FSP System and modifications to access via the TEAL. (Note that Service Account Manager is a role within the TEAL system. Each employing organization must have at least one employee with a Service Account Manager status.) If you have submitted a request for access or a request to modify access and it has not been granted, please consult with your superintendent or district approver or check with your district’s Service Account Manager to check the status of the request before contacting the TEA.
For more information on the FSP System, including information on applying for specific roles in the system, please see the TEA FSP System web page. For help with accessing the FSP system or submitting the 2021–2022 TIS, please contact Meco Harris by phone at (512) 463-6313 or email taxprograms@tea.texas.gov.

*NEW* The National Suicide Prevention Line
Starting July 16h The National Suicide Prevention Line is changing! The once 11-digit number is now shortened to three digits 9-8-8. When people call or text #988 they will be connected to trained counselors with the lifeline network.
In 2020, Congress designated the new 988 dialing code to operate through the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s (1-800-273-8255) network of over 200 locally operated and funded crisis centers across the country. On July 16, 2022, the U.S. will transition to using the 988-dialing code, offering an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen and expand the existing Lifeline. The vision for 988 is to have additional crisis services available in communities across the nation, much the way emergency medical services work.
As 988 rolls out across the country it is vital that the unique needs of children, youth and young adults are considered to ensure that crisis response services are not traumatizing for children, services are age and developmentally appropriate, and services stabilize the situation to keep children in their homes and with their families.
We are here for you! Let us know how we can support you.
