Grandparents' Day is Coming!

As part of the Ridgely Elementary commitment to excellence, Grandparents' Day is planned for Tuesday, April 15, 2025. A registration form for Grandparents' Day was sent home with all students on April 1, 2025. To help us effectively plan, we highly recommend that you pre-register the grandparent(s) who will be visiting wit us on April 15. Registration is due by April 11, 2025.

The day will begin with the arrival of our Terriers and the school day will proceed on a regular schedule. Here are a few reminders for parents.

  • If your child's dismissal is changed for that day--pick-up person, change in transportation--we respectfully ask that you notify the front office by April 11.
  • All visitors must show proper identification to participate in our day.
  • Lunch may be purchased at school; prices and choices are included on the registration form.
  • Pre-registered Grandparents will be expedited through the check-in process.

If you have any questions about Grandparents' Day, please contact me at the school. I look forward to meeting all the special people in our students' lives.

RES Community School Family Survey, 2025

Thank you to those families who completed the RES Family and Community Survey during February and March. The data collected will be analyzed to determine services that are needed in our school community.

On March 19, 2025, a small group of parents met with representatives from Shore Strategies to discuss RES, our programs, and vision for the future. Thank you to these parents for participating in the open discussion about ways to improve our school. A group of fourth and fifth grade students, as well as teachers met with Shore Strategies to discuss their ideas and visions for RES. The information from all three focus groups is vital to our continuous improvement.

More information about the survey of our community and how the RES team plans to address the needs will be shared later in the summer of 2025. If you have any questions about the survey data or want to discuss any of the questions on the survey, reach out to Mrs. McCandless or Mr. Sutton.
