A Message From Mr. Lawson

Dear Concord Families,

As October moves along, I am proud of the work our students are doing academically and the positive choices they are making throughout the school day. Their focus, effort, and respectful behavior are helping create a school environment where students can learn and succeed. A special thank-you to our teachers, whose hard work, thoughtful instruction, and commitment to students make this progress possible.

Arriving on time is essential to maintaining this momentum. Students should arrive at school by 7:15 a.m. and be seated in their first class by 7:30 a.m. Being present from the start helps students receive important directions, participate fully, and establish a strong foundation for the day.

With the end of the marking period quickly approaching, please take time to review your student’s grades together, discuss missing assignments, and contact teachers with any questions. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping our students finish the marking period strong!

End of 1st Marking Period Reminder End of 1st Marking Period Reminder

Concord High School’s marking period ends on Friday, October 30, 2026. As we approach this date, please take a few moments to check in with your student, review their grades and any missing assignments, and discuss what they need to do to finish strong. If you have questions or concerns about your student’s progress, please contact their teachers to discuss next steps and available support. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping our students stay on track and achieve academic success!

Attendance Reminder Attendance Reminder

Regular attendance helps students keep up with lessons, complete assignments, and stay connected to their teachers and classmates. Missing just two school days a month adds up to about 18 days in a school year—10% of the year, the threshold for chronic absenteeism. Missing individual classes can also leave students with work and instruction to make up. At Concord, students must be in class by 7:30 a.m. Hall sweeps will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. every school day. Thank you for helping your student arrive ready to learn.

Weekly Family Tip Weekly Family Tip

A few minutes of focused attention can open the door to meaningful conversations with your teen. This week, try a daily, phone-free check-in during a meal, a drive, or an evening walk. Ask, “What was the best part of your day?” or “What’s something that felt challenging?” Listen without immediately offering advice, and try asking, “Would you like help, or do you just need me to listen?” Consistent opportunities to talk help your teen know they can turn to you when they need support.
