Chapel
Lower School
This week in Chapel, our students learned a powerful truth: God can handle our mistakes—and He still loves us through them all.
We started by exploring what it means to make a mistake and how it feels when we do. Students were reminded that everyone makes mistakes—kids, adults, and even people in the Bible! We talked about the gift of grace: that God doesn’t throw us away or stay mad when we mess up. Instead, He forgives us, helps us grow, and gives us a fresh start.
We had a special guest from the upper school - Andrew Badolato - visit Chapel this week to share a message about making mistakes and how God responds with love and grace. The students were engaged and interested in His story and the reminder that we are never alone in our failures.
He took us through the story of Peter denying Jesus (Luke 22:54–62), and how—even after making a big mistake—Peter was forgiven and used by God. What an encouragement to all of us that a mistake doesn’t mean the end of our story!
Our memory verse came from 1 John 1:9 (NKJV):
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Through simple teaching, real-life examples, and reflection, our students walked away with this important message:
- Everyone makes mistakes.
- God forgives us when we come to Him.
- Mistakes are not the end—they’re an opportunity for grace and growth.
We ended our time together with one of our favorite songs – Goodness of God. As always, thank you for the opportunity to share the gospel with your children. We couldn’t be more proud of their desire to learn and grow closer to God.
Middle/High School
This week, we kicked off a new series titled Home Improvement. We have discussed many topics in chapel, devotion classes, and our retreats this year, and now it's time to take what we have learned and put it into action to improve the spiritual lives of our homes and the people around us! There are always ways we can improve in our walks with Christ, and building a Christ-centered foundation at home is the most crucial part of that journey.
The girls led us in worship by singing Yesterday Is Dead by Josiah Queen. We also watched a video that recapped our spring retreat and you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/JPmGSgdVMXY

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Here are some guidance updates from this week :)
In Kindergarten-6th grade, we talked about respect! 2nd-4th grade students played a respect game show (Jeopardy-style) where they engaged in questions about respect by acting things out, sketching, answering true/false questions, and thinking through different responses to scenarios. We had a lot of fun playing this game and students were able to articulate some lessons they learned about respect! We discussed that respect is treating people how you want to be treated and also caring for other people. Students gave examples of what it looks like to respect people, the environment, and also things.
In Kindergarten and 1st grade, we watched a Sesame Street segment about respect which allowed the students to reflect on what respect is and how we show it. Students learned that respect is treating people how you want to be treated and caring for the thoughts and feelings of other people. We talked about specific ways to show respect for places, things, and people. We discussed how respect sounds and what it looks like and also how manners are a way of showing respect.
In 5th and 6th grade, we talked about what respect is and how we can show respect to people, places/ the environment, and things. We talked about specific ways of showing respect to each other, to teachers/ admin, parents, and the places we interact with.
Hopefully your students had fun learning about respect this week!
Lower School Spanish
Parents,
We continue to learn all about the food and students are enjoying it! We have learned to ask questions such as "Que quieres comer?" (what do you want to eat) "Tengo hambre" (I'm hungry) "me gusta/no me gusta..." (I like/I don't like)
This week we worked on making full sentences expressing what the students like and what they do not like as they mention foods.
I will continue to collect food newspapers as we will be using them soon for an activity, so please send those in.
I am also attaching a link to a song the younger kids have enjoyed and are learning very quickly!
