I can't thank you enough for the amazing 2025-2026 school year!! When people visit BES that don't live in Bethel, they always say how special our school and community is. That's because we have the BEST parents, students and staff! Thanks for all your support and help this year!! It takes a village and we have an amazing one!!

EOG Update
Our EOG testing went well! We will be retesting reading on Tuesday and 3rd grade students that need to take the RTA reading test will take that. We will be completing retests and make up testing throughout the week. Your child's teacher will be in touch if your child needs to take a retest. Thanks for your support!

We will be having our Inflatables and free Kona ice for K-2 here at BES on Wednesday. Grades 3-5 that earned their EOG tickets for being present, working hard and using their strategies will be able to attend the Waynesville Rec Center on Wednesday. Please make sure they turn in their permission slips on Tuesday. Thanks!

Student Placements for Next Year
I can't believe our year together is winding down. Each year I allow families to let me know via email (awatson@haywood.k12.nc.us) if they feel like their child isn't a good fit with a particular teacher. Please remember, if you request not to have all the teachers but one in the grade, that is not what this is intended for, nor is it a guarantee that your child will receive that teacher. If you are going to take time to write an email, I need a valid reason why you think your child won't be successful in a particular classroom. Thank you!
