Your Ross End-of-YearCheat Sheet

A Few End-of-Year Reminders 🌟

We know this time of year is a lot β€” field trips, performances, summer planning, and somehow already thinking about next year. So here’s a quick roundup of the most important Ross updates and dates, all in one place:

  1. 🌍 June 4 | End-of-Year Picnic (5:00–7:00pm)
Join the Ross picnic with an international twist! Want to bring a dish or help? Sign up here.

  2. β˜•πŸŽ‰ Coming Up Soon

    • Learning Celebrations are on June 11, with a coffee truck (for real!), so please grab a free morning drink after you drop off kids and before the Learning Celebrations begin.

    • Save the date for the Jeni’s fundraiser in the early evening of June 11. Begin your day with free coffee and end it buying a cone at Jeni's on 14th, with proceeds benefitting Ross.

  3. πŸ“š Before School Ends

    • Order your yearbook here: https://square.link/u/t49xTeZo. Place your order by June 11, and make sure to list your kid or kids' names in the box. Pickup/in-school delivery will start June 12 and continue the following week.

    • Still need a class photo? Order here (www.freedpics.com and use code ROSS26CL).

    • Room parents are collecting funds for end-of-year gifts for Ross staff.

  4. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Help Needed for Next Year
    We’re still looking for:

    • One parent volunteer for the LSAT. This requires very little time commitment, just attending a handful of virtual meetings throughout the year. Learn more and nominate yourself here.

    • The PTA cannot operate with PTA Executive Board members. We are still in search of volunteers for the following roles: VP of Community, Treasurer, Lower School Rep, and Upper School Rep. Learn more and nominate yourself here. Note: The lower/upper school rep positions are low time commitments. The VP of Community role is one you can shape (organizing sports' and theater outings/cheap tickets, organizing bike/roll to school, ice cream trucks for field days, etc.); the time commitment is as much as you want to put in. The treasurer works mostly behind the scenes but plays a critical role in our PTA.

  5. πŸ“ If Your Child Isn’t Returning to Ross
Please contact Ms. Segovia to complete the necessary paperwork.

  6. πŸ“SY26-27 Elementary Dismissal Family Notification and Next Steps
DCPS recently notified families of currently enrolled elementary students about the newly required Elementary Student Dismissal Authorization Form, which must be submitted by the first day of school. This is relevant for students who go to afterschool programs and for older students who self-dismiss.

  7. πŸ“± Quick Parent Survey
Schools Beyond Screens DC is gathering family feedback on technology use in DCPS classrooms. The survey takes just a few minutes: https://upenn.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4PyC8Jl670RH3MO
