CCA's March Character Trait: Faithfulness
The March character trait of the month at CCA is faithfulness. I asked three students what faithfulness means to them, and here is what they said. Xander from 3rd grade said, “Faith means believing in something even though you can’t see it.” Liam from 7th grade said, “If you have faith in someone, someone will have faith in you.” Ethan from 2nd grade said, “It means to have faith in others.” God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. 1 Corinthians 10:13 -Jacob

CCA Chapel ⛪
CCA’s worship team opened chapel on Friday, Feb. 28th, by singing three songs. After singing, 7th grade led pledges to the American flag, Christian flag and Bible before a prayer was said. Chris Ruhnke from Show Me Christian Youth Home brought the message. We learned how worry is something that affects us all. It keeps us from doing things. We worry about how we look, what we are going to wear and even what we are going to eat. Worry was even a concern in Bible days.
There will come a time in your life when you ask yourself if you trust in God. If you believe He is going to take care of you? If you believe in God at all. Scripture is like ammo; it's a way to fight back. It's easy to think about our mistakes. We know who we really are. 1 John 4:4 helped Mr. Ruhnke through his times of worry growing up. He had CCA students say, "The power that is in you is stronger than the challenges of this world." Let's not worry about what's going to happen tomorrow or down the line. God is in control, we just have to be obedient of Him and take each day one step at a time. --Sophia
Survey Says:
This week Kynlee surveyed 93 students and teachers to see if they would rather run or jump in a track meet. Running won with 59 votes, while jumping had 34. Fun fact: the men's world record for the fastest marathon is 2:01:39 and is held by Eliud Kichoge. The women’s is 2:15:25 and is held by Brigid Kosgei.
Teacher Feature:
Mrs Huisman grew up in Cazenovia, New York. In the summers she would spend time in Florida with her dad. She has been married to Marshall Huisman for 10 years. Together they have 3 girls: Haylee, Josephine, and Aspen and 3 dogs: a Irish setter, dachshund, and yellow lab. She likes to exercise, go on walks and spend time with her family in her spare time. In high school Keri ran cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, played soccer and volleyball. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do things through Christ who strengthens me." The person she looks up to the most is Jesus, her Lord and Savior. --Lilly
Spirit Week
Pep Rally
On Tuesday, February 25th, CCA celebrated the varsity girls and boys basketball teams for winning the MCSAA State Tournament, with a whole school pep rally. It began with the announcing of all the boys and girls teams, including 5/6th grade, junior high, and varsity girls and boys. The cheerleaders performed some of their cheers along with their dance.
The varsity girls team then played the 7-12th grade basketball boys in a game of knockout. The game was exciting and competitive; however, the boys won. Each grade then participated in yelling for the spirit stick awards, which are broken up into K4-6th grade category and 7-12th grade category. In the younger group, the 6th graders won and in the older group the Sophomores won! Congratulations to the State Basketball Varsity Champions!! –Carissa

Scott Aston brings FCA Message to CCA
On Friday, February 28th, upper school students at Clinton Christian Academy had a speaker during a special lunch assembly in the school gym. Scott Aston, with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization, visited CCA to talk with 7-12 graders about their faith and the foundation their faith is built on.
He asked this question, “What are you building your life on?” He talked to us about having our own faith and not just relying on our parent’s faith. He read from Matthew 27:24-26, which talks about the wise man building his house upon a rock. He told us that no matter how good our faith in the Lord is, we will always experience hard times. However, if we have a good foundation of faith then the Lord is providing protection for us. Having a weak foundation can cause you to fall when you get hit with hard times.
Christianity is about grace, which is an undeserved merit that comes from Jesus Christ. God will save us and protect us if we lean on Him during challenging times. God will not let us down, it is not in His nature to do that to His followers. We should be like the wise man who built his life on a strong and firm foundation, and not like the foolish man who built his house on the sand. We should make our own faith with the Lord and rely on Him to help us and protect us through the hard times in life. –Carissa
