🚘 Additional Arrival and Pick Up Reminders 🚘
- Our goal is to keep Linwood Avenue free of standing traffic, please assist by following the above protocols.
- HINT: When exiting the school campus and Wallkill Avenue has standing traffic...make a right hand turn onto Linwood and exit via Hamilton/Lawrence. It eliminates a back up on school grounds and most times is actually faster than waiting to exit via Wallkill Avenue.
- By keeping the traffic flow moving and expediting student vehicle exit, we will eliminate many students being late who are on campus, but not able to safely exit their vehicles.
- There are several parents who come for afternoon pick up early. There are rules for idling cars on school property that prohibit excessive idling (often over 3 minutes) for both gas and diesel vehicles. Please refer to signage posted on campus;
- There is NO ASSIGNED PARKING SPOTS during afternoon pick up; parents are encouraged to be kind to others who are arriving to pick up their children prior to our dismissal window.
- As per the Before Care FAQs, drop off for before care supervision is by 7:15 AM;
- if the cones are up at the top of the hill, parents must park in a visitor space and walk their child to the before car door;
- if the cones are NOT up, please be mindful of parents/children who are using the driver side to exit their students;
- If your child comes for breakfast ONLY, they must stay INSIDE the cafeteria until the bell rings (students may not exit the building to the outside prior to the first bell).
Thank you for your assistance in keeping our mornings safe for our students!

🔥 3 Generations of Hamburg Firefighters 🔥
A powerful example of tradition, service, and community pride. Pictured above are three generations of the Hamburg Fire Department: Don Decker, Kevin Decker, and Zach Decker. Their commitment reflects a legacy of courage and selflessness that spans generations. As a community, we are incredibly proud to support our local fire department and to recognize the dedication and service of families like the Deckers.
Thank you for all you do to keep Hamburg safe. 🚒❤️

Board of Education
The Hamburg Board of Education calls on citizens to continue working together to advance the education of all students, as it recognized the contributions of colleagues throughout the state during School Board Recognition Month in New Jersey.
“The Hamburg Board of Education embraces the goal of high-quality education for all New Jersey public school students,” read a resolution adopted by the board. “New Jersey can take pride in its schools, which rank among the nation’s best in key achievement indicators such as the National Assessment of Educational Progress scores, and the preparation for college through advanced placement offerings and SAT assessments.”
Since the first School Board Recognition Month in New Jersey in 2002, the State Board of Education, the state-level public body that regulates public education, has approved resolutions to honor the work done by local school board members.
School board members in New Jersey receive no pay for their service. More than 5,000 men and women serve on New Jersey’s local boards of education, making them the largest group of public officials in the state.
“Nothing is more important than our children’s education. School board members provide countless hours of service to their communities and strive to provide the resources necessary to meet the needs of all students,” said Mr. Jones, president of the Hamburg School Board of Education. “That is why our board is joining in efforts to recognize these volunteers throughout the state. We urge all citizens to work with their local boards of education and public school staff toward the improvement of our children’s education.”
Michael Jacobs, president of the New Jersey School Boards Association, said School Board Recognition Month is “an important way to thank current and former school board members for their dedication and service on behalf of their communities.”
“New Jersey’s local school boards are selected by their community to serve as their voice in setting goals for their schools, “he said.” School board members serve without remuneration, and dedicate extraordinary amounts of time to their communities,” Jacobs said. “Additionally, board members attend training programs and many reach out to state legislators and members of Congress on behalf of local schoolchildren. We thank them for their work.”
