Welcome Back Welcome Back

Hello Middle/High School Families,

Thank you to all for the wonderful open house experience at our building this past Wednesday evening! With all of the changes to the building over the summer, we were certainly hard at work getting everything ready for you all in the weeks leading up to it. Personally, it was wonderful to finally meet many of you for the first time and see so many of our students step back into the building. The excitement was wonderful to experience and I enjoyed hearing the many laughs and happy reunions through our halls.

Over the rest of the week, our staff was diligently making final preparations to start the school year! We are very excited to welcome our students back into school officially this coming Tuesday for our first day. I hope you enjoyed your weekend and have the same excitement to meet all of us here at school!

6th Grade Boot Camp - Thank You and Feedback 6th Grade Boot Camp - Thank You and Feedback

Our 6th Grade Boot Camp proved to be a wonderful time this past Friday! Thank you so much to our sixth grade staff members, Mrs. Goldsmith, our food service team, our bus drivers, and secretaries for all helping our newest students acclimate to our building a bit more. Even though we had to shorten it a bit this year, I personally know that many of the students that attended are already feeling much more comfortable with the transition for the upcoming year! Let's keep this excitement going as we head into the school year!

If you have any feedback for our team about boot camp, please feel free to fill in this short survey here. We would love to continue to advance and evolve what we can do to support students as they come into our building. Your feedback not only welcome, but critical to our process in determining what adjustments should be taken into account and what we should continue to do.

Student Drop Off Information Student Drop Off Information

As we start the school year, please be aware of our drop off procedure for mornings:

The loop in the front of the building facing the road is for our buses only. Please do not come into this loop during the morning hours. It is critical to allow as smooth and safe of a process as possible for our bus drivers. Students dropped off by the bus will enter Door #2.

Parents will drop students off along the north side of the building by the gym. Students who are being dropped off or are parking will walk into the building at Door #3. When dropping off, please pull forward as much as possible to make room for other cars doing the same. We would prefer to keep traffic flowing smoothly without blocking the bus exit from the loop.

Pickup at the end of the day will utilize the same zone as morning drop off. Please be aware of and patient for our buses pulling out of the lot. We may ask you to wait when they pull out. We have many students that we transport on a daily basis and attempt to keep everything flowing smoothly.

Thank you for your cooperation!

For our first day, we will have an alternate schedule. This is to allow for our students to have a longer time period in the morning to get their technology, learn our routines, get access to their schedule, and meet the new admin team.

It may seem odd that 4th hour is at the end of the day, but this was done to keep our lunch periods as close to a normal day as possible.

Our typical bell schedule, which will start on Wednesday, is below!

Mr. Nicholas Ramcheck - Principal

It is a pleasure to join the Westfield School District as the new Middle and High School principal for the upcoming year. My background as an educator has allowed me to work with thousands of different students in a variety of content areas with significant experience in curricular development and building connections. Beyond this, I have coached multiple different sports and other extracurricular activities at both the middle school and varsity levels, sharing my personal experiences in a meaningful way to help our students reach their full potential as individuals.

As a former science teacher, I believe that curiosity is the spark that ignites learning and personally attempt to embrace this value in all aspects of my practice. My personal hope is to foster this in our students, staff, and community as we work together to move forward into our future. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate and hope to continue to learn from the experiences everyone can bring to the table.

Outside of the classroom, I participate in a wide variety of hobbies and activities, always willing to try and learn something new. I share many of these activities with my wife and two children. Some of my favorites include many board games, any competitive sport, building furniture in my woodshop, and travelling to as many places as possible. I look forward to meeting each of you and contributing to this wonderful community.
