October 2026
Our mission at MBI is to attend to and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, ensure high levels of learning for all students, and show GRIT every day. Our doors are always open and we are here to support our students and our community in the best ways we can.

Car Rider Procedures
Doors open at 7:35 a.m. The first bell is at 8:00 a.m. and tardy bell is at 8:10 a.m. Release time is 3:05 p.m.
Car riders will need to be dropped off on the west side of campus. After 8:00 AM, students need to be dropped off at the front of the building. Please see the diagram below for our car rider procedures. After the triangle median you can make 2 lines. Then, at the cone, we merge back into one line. This allows us to clear 15th street off. Please be sure to drop your students off at the curb to ensure an expedited and safe drop-off.
***UPDATE***
For the safety of our students and traffic flow during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up:
DO NOT park or form a line on the north side of 15th Street going westbound.
If you cannot turn directly into the parking lot, please form a single line on the south side of 15th Street heading eastbound.
Thanks again for being patient and kind!
Life App Fun Day: Nuke 'Em
At the end of each quarter, MBI hosts a Life App Fun Day. Students are able to sign up to play whatever that quarter's tournament is, purchase snacks from concession stands, and enjoy time with friends to celebrate the end of a successful quarter of learning.
For Quarter 1, we are hosting a Nuke 'Em tournament! All proceeds from this day will go directly to BEAST WEEK recipients! Friday, October 9 is the last day to sign up for the tournament. Students need to bring their $5 to Mr. Hasty and Mrs. Wiewel in the gym first thing in the morning to get signed up. This is something you don't want to miss out on!

6th Grade Only: Rain's Law/Fentanyl Awareness Lesson
Meadow Brook Intermediate Families,
Mustang Public Schools is committed to supporting the safety, health, and well-being of our students. We want to make you aware of an upcoming lesson required under Oklahoma law.
Under Oklahoma House Bill 1484, also known as Rain’s Law, Oklahoma school districts are required to provide age-appropriate instruction on fentanyl abuse prevention, drug poisoning awareness, and the skills needed to evaluate valid health information.
On Thursday, October 29, students in grades six through eight will participate in a designated lesson using the standardized curriculum materials provided by the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE).
Lesson Overview & Curriculum
The lesson, titled "Fentanyl, Not Safe at All," will allow students to:
Differentiate between proper use, misuse, and abuse of prescription medications.
Understand the risks associated with fentanyl and counterfeit drugs.
Practice evaluating health information using the AIM framework (Ask, Investigate, Make Sure).
You can review the full instructional materials provided by the OSDE at the links below:

Lesson Plan: Fentanyl, Not Safe at All
Presentation Slides: Fentanyl, Not Safe at All (6-8 Slides)
Parent Right to Opt Out
We recognize that families may have different preferences regarding their child’s participation in lessons addressing sensitive health topics.
If you prefer that your child not participate in this lesson on Thursday, October 29, please complete this opt-out form no later than Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support the safety and well-being of our students.
Sincerely,
Mustang Public Schools

Parent Portal/Grade Checks
Students are able to log into PowerSchool and check their grades, including missing assignments, anytime. Please make this a regular habit with your student. Students do weekly grade checks in their Social Studies classes, so they know how to do this and can show you! You can get your own login by calling the front office at 405-256-5250. We highly encourage you do this, and once you have a login, it'll stay with you until your student graduates or leaves MPS.
Personal Technology Device Policy
Personal Technology Device Policy
Technology can be a wonderful resource in education. However, the use of cell phones and other personal technology devices (PTDs) are incredibly distracting to the learning environment. MPS has the following policy to ensure the least amount of distraction to our students' learning experiences.
All cell phone/PTD practices in MPS grades PreK-6 will follow Mustang Public School district policy #2140. PTDs include but are not limited to laptops, computers, tablets, cellular phones, smart phones, smart watches, gaming devices, earpods/airpods, or headphones. Devices whose primary purpose is gaming, along with any/all portable speakers are expressly prohibited at all times.
Cell Phones/PTDs are not allowed while at school.
This includes once the student arrives on campus and until they leave the campus.
Standard consequences of violation of school cell phone/PTD policy/contract (actual consequences may vary due to severity of the violation):
1st violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in the office & picked up by the student at the end of the day;
2nd violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in the office & picked up by the student at the end of the day;
3rd violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in office until a parent/guardian picks it up in the office;
4th violation: Cell phone/PTD will be kept in office until a parent/guardian picks it up in the office and meets with administrators to discuss further actions.
*These consequences apply to the incidents per student and not incidents per PTD.
*School administration has the discretion to alter the consequences when necessary.
