Parent Communication Guidelines
If you have an urgent or time-sensitive message for your child during the school day, please do not hesitate to call the school office. We will be happy to relay the message to your student.
For non-urgent messages, please email your student using their school email address. This allows us to keep phone lines available for urgent needs.
Reporting Absences & Schedule Changes
Please continue to use the Absence Request feature in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This is the best way to notify the school when your student:
- Has a scheduled appointment
- Needs to leave school early
- Will arrive late
- Will be absent due to illness
- Will be absent for another planned reason
Thank you for helping us keep communication organized and ensuring that important messages reach students in a timely manner!

1) Phones 2) Backpacks 3) Bell Schedule
We had class meetings at RHS at the end of the 2025-2026 with all grade levels about the new changes for this year so they are all aware of our expectations.
1) Phones: Phones will need to stay in student lockers from "bell to bell" which is 7:55-3:20 daily(same policy as the middle school)
2) Backpacks: We are going back to not allowing backpacks during the school day as we did before COVID 19 which is also the same as the middle school. Students may bring backpacks to school with their things in it and put it in their locker during the day. No duffle bags(locker room) only small clutches allowed or Trapper Keepers and Chromebook cases. No bags with straps will be allowed for safety and security reasons.
3) Bell Schedule: We will have an 8 hour class period day every day next year and Flex time will be between 2nd and 3rd periods daily. We will also start the day at 7:55 this year and end at 3:20. We had to add time to our day because we do not have virtual days next year.
Thank you in advance for your support on these changes into this school year as we think it will make a positive difference in our student learning and achievement. The biggest change obviously is in phone usage. There is a ton of research out now on how having phones in learning environments is especially distracting and disengaging for all students. These are the main evidence areas as to why they are not good in schools:
The evidence is strongest in four areas:
- Academic achievement improves when phones are restricted.
- Attention and learning suffer when phones are present and accessible.
- Mental health concerns are associated with excessive smartphone and social media use.
- School climate and student engagement generally improve under clear phone restrictions.
